We are proud to announce that our very own, Dr Adam Fa’atoese is a finalist in the Media Contribution of the Year category for the 2026 Hutt Valley Sports awards.

This nomination reflects “Doc’s” dedication to walking alongside our komiti and teams, capturing our journey for the world to witness and helping ensure the history of Hutt Valley Samoa is preserved for future generations - every member of our komiti is worthy of the highest recognition. Though we carry ourselves with humility, we will always lift our voices with pride when one of our own rises — because their success is our collective strength, our collective story, and our collective victory.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the following Hutt Valley Samoa players: Ryder Ulugia, Raphael Tugalua and Solomone Tuiano for their outstanding achievement in playing the curtain‑raiser match prior to the Warriors vs Dolphins game on Saturday.

Their selection into the WRL Futures Warriors Academy reflects months of dedication and training from December 2025 to April 2026, supported by exceptional Wellington coaching staff: Daniel McEwan, Amanda McEwan, Ralph Leafe, Nui Ririnui, Kieran O’Brien and Ace Tiatia.

A massive thank you to their parents and families for their unwavering support throughout the boys’ journeys — your commitment behind the scenes makes moments like this possible.

Both teams delivered an impressive performance, with the Wellington Academy securing a 48–24 victory. It was fantastic to see such strong support for both teams, which was a great lead up to the mens game - the vibe was 100% at Hnry Stadium.

We look forward to many more opportunities from WRL for our young male and female athletes to showcase their talent.

🌺🏉 Celebrating Casey Sio

We’re so proud of HVSRL U16 Girls player, Casey Sio, who was selected for the Harvey Norman Heartland Athletes programme run by !

Over the past two days, Casey had the amazing opportunity to train with NRLW Warriors coach Ron Griffiths, captain Apii Nicholls, and Shakira Baker. She learned valuable lessons about player wellbeing, leadership, and what it takes to perform at the top level. 💪🏽🔥

Also joining in to support and learn was our very own HVSRL Chairperson, U12s, and Randwick Queenfishers coach, Tarsh — always leading by example! 🙌🏽

We’re proud to see our HVSRL players and leaders continuing to grow, represent our community, and inspire others through rugby league 💚💛💙

📢 BIG NEWS FOR HVSRL!
After hard work in the background over the past few years, in 2025, Hutt Valley Samoa Rugby League has now officially become a Registered Charitable Trust in Aotearoa New Zealand.

This is a huge step in strengthening the future of our organisation, and we want to acknowledge and thank Vai Lui from Healthy Families Hutt Valley, for her strong support and guidance in getting us across the line. 🙏🏽

So why is this a big deal?
Becoming a Charitable Trust:
• opens the door to bigger funding opportunities
• increases credibility and accountability
• helps us strengthen our drive for success for our next generation

What does this change for you?
Nothing changes in how you register, play, volunteer, or support HVSRL - but it changes a lot for what we can now access, build and deliver for our families and our tamaiti.
It strengthens our foundation — so we can keep growing, keep serving, and keep creating opportunities in the Hutt Valley.

Hutt Valley Samoa Rugby League extends our biggest congratulations to three of our players who have been selected to represent their other cultures at the 2025 Pasifika Youth Cup, which commenced today.
