Otago Uni’s oldest martial arts club (est. early 1970s). Focused on self-defence, fitness, and beginner-friendly training.

Open to Uni/Polytech students and the wider Dunedin community

Monday & Thursday 6–7.30pm
Venues may vary; check posts for updates Started in the early 1970s, the Otago University Karate Club was the first martial arts club on the Otago campus; it has been training Otago students for over 35 years. New students are most welcome, and although we are a University club, we do accept non-students. Affiliated to the IOGKF, an international organisation.

Kia ora everyone
Our Sem 2 kyu grading will be next Monday 12 October from 6pm at Clubs and Socs dance studio.
If unsure whether you should take part, please chat to one of the senseis.
After grading we'll have a Club dinner at Joe's Garage

Tonight's training will be a chance to practice your kata and applications for the upcoming grading.
There will be no formal training tonight as all black belts are otherwise engaged - the usual venue (Knox church hall) will be open for your own self directed training. See you all on Monday and don't forget your crunches!
