NZ Mixed Fours Results

There were ten entries and after the four qualifying rounds the top four teams went on to play a round robin. It was a long day!

The Winners were Daniel French, David Webb, Keri Te Tamaki and Lyn Rance with 4 Match Points and 16 ends. I am sure they will do Otago proud in the Zone Finals in a few weeks.

Second place went to Ross Garner, John Williams, Raewyn Keighly and Jaquie Williams with 3 match points and 14 ends.

Third place went to Mike Harte, Peter Earl, Rhonda Switalla and Yvonne Adam with 3 match points and 12 ends.

And fourth place went to Barry Cadogan, Bob Cowan, Shirley Ruthven and Jenny Cowan.

Thanks to NZ Bowls for this 🙌🏾

The dust has now settled on a very successful 76th NZIB Nationals.

We would like to extend a huge thankyou to Manawatu as the host district and also Palmy Venues + Events for their efforts in making our National Championships a success.

It is clear that the strong youth programs run by our Districts are bearing fruit, with a large proportion of successful players in the Open events having freshly emerged from the junior ranks (with a couple still in them!)

Events like this can't run without volunteers, and we'd like to acknowledge every person who contributed to the successful showcase of indoor bowls that was the 76th National Championships.

The Oompah Loompahs have had a great day sightseeing around Fielding Bunnythorp and Ashurst today!
Missed the fours finals but got out n about!
Man did they have some fun, drink some booze, play up and see some sights!!!

Nationals Triples Knockouts are underway….

Greg Keene and his team of Southland imports (Bronwyn Carse and Alan Berrigan) are in a battle Royale and are currently up by 3 with one to go.

Unsure on the score in Daniel French’s (Matt and Dylan Foster) match against Gary Low but it looks intense!
Update :
Greg and his team has won and go through to top 16 soon.
Daniel and his team have got up over the strong Low team from Southland to also advance to the top 16.
Second Update:
Greg has lost his top 16 match.
Daniel has won so will go on to the quarterfinals…

The Northern Zone Academy and Masters teams have won the Sam Henderson Memorial Trophy and the Delwyn Hughes Plate respectively.

The games were well contested and played in a fantastic spirit.
