No sailor is an island! 🤝

While sailing is often seen as an individual sport, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do at MBSC.

Even in our single-handed fleets, our kids rely heavily on working with training partners and coaches ashore. And in our double-handers? Communication and trust are vital to making the boat fly. ⛵️

Come join a supportive community that teaches kids to lift each other up.

Championing yourself while respecting the fleet is what makes a true Murrays Bay sailor. 🏆

When clubs need help, volunteers answer the call.

From launching boats and maintaining equipment to supporting events and helping fellow members, our volunteers are the heart of our club.

During National Volunteer Week (14–20 June), we proudly recognise and thank every volunteer who contributes their time and effort to make MBSC the amazing community it is today.

Your contribution matters. Thank you!

Will and Tom arrived in Morocco to 40knot winds and no sailing on the first day, but sorted the charter boats and got on the water day 2 to get a feel for conditions. The water is cold and the air is hot, meaning very shifty conditions. Yesterday both MBSC sailors took part in a pre-regatta of 100 sailors and tested out the race coarse. Will had two good races and is placed 30th, Tom had a cracker 2nd race and was 15th to the last leg but got caught with a shift that didnt shift and dropped back, ending the day 47th out of 102 sailors.

Even the best in the world never stop refining their craft! ⛵️

At MBSC, we channel this mindset every single day. Whether our junior sailors are stepping into a boat for the first time or training for national podiums, there is always room to grow, learn, and improve.

What did the water teach you this week? 👇

Thanks to Royal Akarana Yacht Club for hosting the Coaches Regatta for the Yachting New Zealand Youth Squads - ILCA, 29er and 420. Always nice to see some great performances from MBSC sailors over the 2 day light wind regatta.

Wishing all the sailors heading overseas in the next 2 weeks the very best of luck. We’re proud to see you represent!
