New Ball Trial

Purpose: Establish the playability and durability of the new WHIP balls from Dynamic Sport.

Why try something new: The Yellow ONIX balls are great, but not the most durable. The cost is high. Our main cost is balls. The WHIP balls offer an alternative, available from a great local supplier at a reasonable price.

How can I help? Play with the new WHIP balls, post a comment here to let us know what you think of them. Resist the urge to revert to other balls, we want to understand the life span of the WHIP balls and continuous play is the only way.

Duration: From 6-11 July most evening sessions will use the WHIP balls. We'll stick with Yellow ONIX balls for Competitive Sessions.

What about the green balls? We'll keen using the Green Gamma Proton balls for daytime sessions. They play quite differently than both the ONIX and WHIP balls. In comparison to the ONIX balls they offer better durability as well.

6-11th of July Schedule

School Holidays mean a few changes at the East Coast Bays Leisure Centre

Some cancelations - Tuesday 3-6pm, Thursday 12:30-2:30pm and Friday 6-8:45pm are all cancelled this week.

A change in time for Wednesday's day session 10am-2pm this week.

Additional evening sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at Browns Bay - plus the regular Advanced Play at Tornado continues.

Matariki Special Sessions
There are two sessions on Friday the 10th - Matariki. 12pm is Open Play, no registration required, just come on down. 3pm is by registration on GPN. As the Centre is closed for the day we have hired the courts. This means a $8 fee on Matariki, payable by Bank Transfer or cash on the day. See GPN for the details.
