BEN GIBSON - HARCOURTS Cooper & Co Real Estate OAC Triples June 11th

How long can this last ... another sensational autumn day lay in wait for the 36 teams as they battled for supremacy and bragging rights at our weekly club Triples comp. A chilly single digit temperature greeted the players, most with an extra layer or three to keep the body at a comfortable level, although some of the hardier souls showing some skin, attired in their summer shorts. Once the sun got a little higher the morning warmed nicely, and carried on for most of the day, superb conditions for sure.

It was again a real pleasure to welcome back to our club BEN GIBSON from HARCOURTS COOPER & CO Real Estate, our sponsor for the day. Ben, in partnership with Harcourts Cooper & Co also sponsored the recenly completed and most successful NZ Arm Bowlers tournament, a first for bowls in New Zealand that gathered together some 132 players from Australia & NZ over four days at Bowls Orewa. Thank you Ben for your enthusiastic and most welcome support of our club.

This week the alternating 4 game/12 end/2 bowl format again proved that regardless of two or three bowls the competion is certainly tough and even, with x3 four winners, and x10 three winners vying for the five main prizes.

CRANEFIELD AUTOMOTIVE & TYRE SERVICES OAC Triples - May 4th

Our unbelievably good run of weather continued this week with a record high 38 teams rocking up for another day of comradery, stern competition, and some great banter thrown in for good measure.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome back to our club Dan Notley from CRANEFIELD AUTOMOTIVE & TYRE SERVICES Silverdale, our valued sponsor for the day. Although he was on a limited timeframe Dan created a most memorable impact with his outgoing & infectious demeanour, not to memntion the delicious supply of the "good ole fish n chips' for the 114 players to enjoy at the end of the day. And wait there's more, the wine & ale prizes went down an absolute treat, and four lucky draw players got the opportunity of a free WOF with their next vehicle service at CRANEFIELDS, sensational Dan, thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing back at our club again.

As is fast becoming the norm it is proving difficult to be in the prizes unless you have four wins, this week being no exception with x6 four winners for the five prizes on offer.

Both Women's & Men's comps are on tomorrow at the most hospitable Mahurangi East Bowling Club in Snells Beach.
Both our Champions Nelda Taylor & Alf Stamp will be in action, we wish them well.
Knockout round one commences 9.30am, with quarter finals scheduled for 12pm start.
First to 21 , no time limit.
Semi finals & Finals are Sunday 9.30am, again at Mahurangi East Bowling Club.
