BEN GIBSON Harcourts Cooper & Co Real Estate OAC Triples - September 4th

A marginally less than usual 27 teams lined up for another day of friendly rivalry and competition, with one team unfortunately having to sit out each round with a bye, the culprits with the double entry shall remain nameless.

With the soft event launch of the prestigious OCEANIA 2026 (November 18-22 2026) and the HARCOURTS COOPER & CO NZ Arm Bowling tournament (May 4-7 2027) taking place at the completion of the days play ot was a real pleasure to welcome to our club Brett O'Riley President of World Bowls, and the Patron of Bowls North Harbour representing OCEANIA 2026, together with Neil Connell BNH President on behalf of the NZ Arm Bowling competition. We are very much looking forward to hosting both these tournaments that will be played on our two undercover greens, with plenty of action, cultural flavour, and the promise of some high calibre bowling skill on display.

Once again we welcomed our local real estate legend, and sponsor for the day BEN GIBSON from Harcourt's Cooper & Co Orewa. With his quiet and unassuming manner Ben is fast becoming a very recognisable figure around Orewa township with his enthusiastic support of many local charities and causes not going unnoticed. Thank you Ben for your ongoing and generous support of our club, it is always appreciated.

Once again the competition to make the prizewinners list was fierce with a third of the field in the reckoning to have a chance at a collect with x4 four winners and x5 three winners. Ben's son Otis did a great job presenting the top performig teams with their winnings, many thanks Otis.

SUMMERSET RETIREMENT VILLAGE Milldale OAC Triples August 27th

A mildish and overall very pleasant day was enjoyed by the 32 teams entered for our weekly Open triples comp, with all games played on our two undercover greens. This weeks 4game/8 end/3 bowl format resulted in an unusually even spread of results with just the x2 four winners, x2 three and a half, and x4 three winners.

It was a real pleasure to welcome back to our club Lucy McKimmey from SUMMERSET RETIREMENT VILLAGE Milldale, our awesome sponsor for the day. Lucy a breath of fresh air as always commented on the popularity of the wonderful lifestyle on offer at their village, and the wide range of facilities avaiable. Lucy was then thrust into the role of assisting our convenor with distributing the prizes, which she handled with aplomb and flair it must be said. Thank you Lucy for your valued input today, and to SUMMERSET RETIREMENT VILLAGE Milldale for their loyal and generous support of our club, it is most appreciated.

THE BOTANIC LUXURY RETIREMENT VILLAGE Siverdale OAC Triples August 20th

An eye watering 38 teams gathered on a brilliantly clear and crisp winters day, certainly one befitting the depth and quality of the players present.

We once again had the real pleasure of welcoming back to our club Michelle Pipping (Sales & Marketing Manager) and Kathryn Rule (Sales Consultant) from THE BOTANIC Luxury Retirement Village Silverdale, our sponsor for the day. Michelle spoke genuinely and knowledgeably of the superb lifestyle on offer, and currrently enjoyed by the exisiting residents, many of them valued members of our club. With some exciting new living opportunities either available currently, or on the way both Michelle and Kathryn are available to assist any prospective occupiers with a low key, no obligation and informed overview of life at THE BOTANIC Luxury Retirement Village Silverdale.

As a club we are most appreciative of the continued and generous support of THE BOTANIC, thank you very much. An added bonus of the three lucky draw vouchers, courtesy of THE BOTANIC for their outstanding on site Clubhouse Cafe were extremely well received by the recipients.

With the massive number of teams in the hunt to make the prize winners list there was a logjam at the top end with x4 four winners, x1 three and a half, and a whopping x8 three winners at the conclusion of this weeks four game, 2 bowl, 12 end format.
