All MBTC courts are back in action in time for our busy interclub season.

Our 1-6 lower courts were recently roped off to allow for the replacement of the floodlight poles. We are extremely grateful for the NZ Community Trust’s grant which was utilised for this important project. This was a difficult task carried out with care and consideration by Coll Electrical. We thank our neighbours for their patience during what was at times a noisy construction phase!

Interclub has started and we’re more than prepared. For our busy summer that’s just getting underway we’ve installed a new watercooler in the lower clubhouse. We’ve also had Turf & Drainage give our courts their annual makeover. They are looking pristine with all courts cleaned and sprayed.

Thank you everyone who has donated to our supporting Play on Project. A charitable trust founded by three local high school students with the dual mission of gifting pre-loved sports equipment to disadvantaged schools & communities, while simultaneously reducing waste & promoting sustainability.

You can support our club’s collaboration with Play on Project by delivering your quality used sports equipment & clothing to the bins provided in our lower clubrooms.

It’s very special seeing how this project is being embraced.

Shanghai Masters took the cup last night at the Indoor Tournament, they edged out Madrid Open only in the final round! Qatar Open took 3rd place with Indian Wells coming 4th. Thankfully there was enough cake for everyone - a quarter per team no less so it was even stevens on that front. It was a great fun night, thank you Kirsten for your superb organisation, Lida for ensuring we had food and the social committee for another fun event.

It was a picture perfect winter’s day for our friendly club challenge v on Sun 2nd. Not so perfect was the score line which meant Kohi retained the cup. But considering it was rained out last year who could complain. Thank you Kohi for a wonderful day, fun friendly matches and great hospitality! We look forward to reciprocating next year. Thank you to our players who made the journey across the bridge, the drive around the waterfront was sublime!
