10/11/2025
Wild to think that 10 years ago a few of us ventured to Westport for ....
New to the adventure racing scene and looking for a challenge with some members....
10 years later and not a Sea 2 Summit race missed (COVID called a halt to the 2020 race ๐ญ... But some of us still made the trip over and up the reek anyway!)
That small few has grown to over 20 people getting involved in the race every year!
There are so many great races over the year but this one hits different for some reason.
I don't know why it does, but it does!
As always, this year was no different. A great race with an even greater group of people.
Whether Racing or supporting on course, the UC crew gets behind everyone and drives each other on!
Off course comes the post race segment breakdown!
"The mountain got me this year"
"The cycle was killer."
"What time did you do the mountain in"
But the overwhelming one is....
"F**k me, that last run" ๐คฃ๐คฃ
It's one of those... "When you know you know" moments!
Here's to another 10 years!
.....it turns out there's an over 70s winning category so there's my life goals set up! !
Huge shout out to all the UC for once again making the race, the weekend, and the racing year an absolute belter!
Big shout out to Denise Molloy and Ronan McKenna for being this years UC Racers of the Year.
Denise is a 2nd time and deserved winner of the award after having a cracker of a year.
No training stone was left unturned and it paid off as Denise was crowned National Adventure Racer of the year 2025 ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Ronan took to adventure racing this year and has challenged himself physically and mentally with different courses, race lengths and styles and overcome every challenge that they have thrown at him!
Hat tip Ronan, you are an inspiration! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Well done to all the first time racers and new members who have joined in the madness through the year๐
Here's to the 2026 season with some new races on the cards and new challenges on the horizon!
