Strand Road 5 Killorglin C 2

Strand Road produced a superb comeback to defeat Killorglin C 5–2 in a thrilling encounter.

The away side found themselves in early trouble, going 2–0 down after a shaky start. Killorglin C took their chances well, but Strand Road showed great character and belief to fight their way back into the game.

The comeback began when Seanie pulled one back, giving Strand Road a lifeline. Momentum quickly shifted, and Choggy calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to make it 2–2.

In the second half, Strand Road took full control. Daz produced the moment of the match with a brilliant strike from outside the box, firing past the keeper to put his side ahead. TJ, known as “Mr. Goals,” then added a fourth with a clinical finish, before Seanie grabbed his second of the game to seal an impressive 5–2 victory.

At the other end, Pup was outstanding in goals, making crucial saves to keep Strand Road in the game, especially when they were under pressure early on.

From 2–0 down to 5–2 winners, it was a performance full of resilience, quality, and determination from Strand Road.

Strand Road face a huge test in the Greyhound Bar Cup quarter-final as they come up against a strong Killarney Celtic side. It’s set to be their toughest challenge yet, with a place in the semi-finals on the line.

They also have a big clash ahead in the Celsius Cup semi-final, where they’ll meet high-flying Emerald Eagles.

Two tough games, but a great chance for Strand Road to prove themselves against top opposition.

Strand Road 4–3 Mastergeeha
Greyhound Bar Cup – First Round Match Report

Strand Road kicked off their Greyhound Bar Cup campaign in style with a thrilling 4–3 win over Mastergeeha in a first-round tie packed with drama from start to finish.

The game started brightly for Strand Road, who took an early lead through Aaron after putting immediate pressure on the opposition. However, their advantage didn’t last long, as Mastergeeha responded almost instantly. A conceded penalty allowed them to draw level, and just before half-time they edged in front with a superb strike, sending Strand Road into the break trailing 2–1.

The response after half-time was exactly what was needed. Strand Road came out sharper, stronger, and full of intent. Their efforts were rewarded when skipper Alan found the net to bring the sides level once again.

From there, the game became a tight and hard-fought contest, with both teams battling for control. The score remained level for much of the second half, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

That changed when TJ, introduced from the bench, made a huge impact. With around 15 minutes to go, he fired Strand Road back in front, giving them a crucial edge in the tie.

Mastergeeha pushed hard for another equaliser and created a couple of late chances, but Strand Road stood firm under pressure. Then came a decisive moment—an interception late on set TJ through, and he coolly finished for his second goal of the game to make it 4–2.

There was still time for more drama, as Mastergeeha pulled one back late to make it 4–3, but Strand Road showed great composure in the closing stages, sticking together to see the game out.

All credit goes to the Strand Road lads—their work rate, resilience, and heart were clear to see throughout, and it was a performance that sets them up nicely for the next round.

Strand Road produced a dominant display to run out 5–1 winners over Mastergeeha in an entertaining clash.

The standout performer on the day was TJ McMahon, who finally broke his duck for the club in style by bagging a superb hat-trick. After months of near misses, the forward was clinical throughout and will be delighted to get off the mark in such emphatic fashion.

KJ also got himself on the scoresheet, continuing his fine run of form in front of goal. The striker simply can’t stop finding the net at the moment and remains a constant threat to opposition defences.

However, the moment of the match undoubtedly belonged to Lee, who produced a sensational strike from 35 yards that left the goalkeeper with absolutely no chance. It was a goal worthy of winning any game and capped off an impressive team performance.

Overall, it was a strong and composed showing from Strand Road, who controlled large parts of the game and looked sharp going forward. That said, there will be some concern in the camp following injuries to Caoimhin and Jordan Bowler, especially with crucial fixtures on the horizon.

Strand Road remain firmly in control at the top with 26 points, but with only the top two teams qualifying for the league final, the race is still very much alive. Kerry Blues currently occupy that crucial second spot on 18 points, but with games in hand and several teams close behind, their position is far from secure. Tralee Bay and Kilorglin, both on 14 points, are still within striking distance and will be pushing hard to break into the top two. With plenty left to play for, the battle for a place in the league final is shaping up to be highly competitive.

Strand Road 4 – 1 Tralee Bay

Strand Road started brightly despite missing their boy wonder Jordan Bowler through illness, but it didn’t take long for them to get going. Aaron opened the scoring after a brilliant team move, giving Strand Road an early advantage. The second goal came from Seanie Mahony, who was outstanding up top and deservedly got on the scoresheet. It was 2–0 at half-time, with Strand Road playing good football and firmly in control of the game.

The second half began a little sloppy, but the team settled again after a few introductions from the bench. Sean Duggan, making only his second appearance for the club, wasn’t long on the pitch before finding the back of the net with a low strike. TJ McMahon might want to watch out — there’s a new kid on the block!

We did concede for the first time in a couple of weeks after a mix-up between our two centre-halves who failed to deal with a breaking ball, though both were otherwise outstanding on the day. Strand Road wrapped the game up with a goal from Adam, who has just returned from injury and was quick to find the net on his comeback.

A strong performance in tough weather conditions.

Match Report: Strand Road 6–0 Lisard

Strand Road delivered a dominant performance under the lights with a comprehensive 6–0 victory over Lisard, leading 4–0 at the break and never looking back.

The scoring was opened in style by our boy wonder Jordan Bowler, who set the tone early with a composed finish to put Strand Road ahead. From there, the floodgates opened. KJ netted his first goal for the club soon after, and he didn’t have to wait long to double his tally, grabbing his second of the night to put the hosts firmly in control.

Not to be outdone, Tommy Mac stepped up with a moment of brilliance, unleashing a 25-yard bullet that flew past the helpless keeper to cap off a superb first-half display and send Strand Road into the interval 4–0 up.

The second half began in slightly careless fashion, with Strand Road momentarily losing their sharpness. However, the response was emphatic. KJ completed a memorable night by slotting home his third goal — sealing his first hat-trick for the club and putting the result beyond any doubt.

The scoring was rounded off in spectacular fashion by Lee, who produced a wonder strike worthy of any occasion to make it six.

A special mention goes to TJ McMahon, who may still be waiting to get off the mark for the club but continues to boost morale by loudly praising the quality of his own passes — confidence is clearly not in short supply!

At the back, it was another assured and disciplined display. The back four stood firm throughout to secure yet another clean sheet, providing the perfect foundation for an outstanding team performance.

A commanding win, a hat-trick hero, and another clean sheet — Strand Road march on in style.

Strand Road 5 Leanmore 0

Strand Road produced a dominant performance to secure an emphatic 5–0 victory over Lenamore, with a commanding display from start to finish.

The home side wasted no time asserting control, moving the ball confidently and dictating the tempo with sharp, accurate passing. Their early pressure paid off when Jordan Bowler opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Bowler was in inspired form and soon doubled his tally, striking again to put Strand Road firmly in control.

Aaron Horgan added a third before the break, capping off an excellent first-half performance that saw Strand Road head into half-time with a deserved 3–0 lead. The team’s work rate, organisation, and composure on the ball ensured Lenamore struggled to gain any foothold in the game.

The second half continued in much the same fashion. Fresh energy was introduced through substitutes Rory, Daryl, Kevin, Daz, and Chog, and the changes only strengthened Strand Road’s grip on proceedings.

Aaron grabbed his second of the game with a clinical finish to make it four, before Daryl added the fifth to round off an outstanding team display.

Overall, it was a complete performance — controlled possession, crisp passing, relentless work rate, and clinical finishing — as Strand Road ran out convincing 5–0

Match Report: Strand Road 1 vs 0 Emerald Eagles

Strand Road started brightly and took control early on, earning a penalty within the opening stages. Daryl Byrne stepped up but was unlucky to see his effort hit the post.

Strand Road continued to dominate throughout the first half, with TJ McMahon particularly unfortunate not to score what would have been his first goal for the club.

The breakthrough finally came in the second half when Aaron struck from long range, and the Emerald Eagles goalkeeper fumbled the ball into the back of the net. Strand Road kept pressing, playing some impressive football and coming close to adding to their lead, but further goals proved elusive.

Overall, it was a very strong performance from Strand Road — a positive result with plenty of promise, and still lots to build on for the remainder of the season.
