St Patricks GAA

St Patricks GAA Our club was reformed in 1958 with the amalgamation of the two sporting half parishes of Skreen and Dromard We are participants in Celebrity Bainisteoir 2011

The club has flourished through the years winning five county senior football titles as well as numerous titles at other levels. Our most famous player was the legendary Mickey Kearins one of the greatest forwards ever to play gaelic football and Sligo’s first ever All- Star in 1971. Now with an excellent Bord na nÓg structure in place working diligently with the ever increasing membership of boys and girls we hope an exciting future for our club lies ahead.

2️⃣recognising and assisting those that may be:
🟥choking,
🟩having a stroke,
🟦experiencing chest pain
🟪providing CPR in infants, children & adults.

🇮🇪 Gaeilge sa Chlub | Irish Language in Our Club 🇮🇪

We’re delighted to be taking part in the Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha scheme, promoting the Irish language within the GAA and we are working towards a bronze medal within this scheme!

As part of the scheme, we’re currently applying for Irish-language signage around the club to make Gaeilge more visible in our everyday club environment. We’ll keep you updated! 🇮🇪

🗣️ Irish classes are back in October!�We’ll have Beginner Level 2 classes. If you attended our classes in January, Level 2 will be the next step on. If you have a basic level of Irish, you’re very welcome too!

We’ll also be starting a Ciorcal Cainte — an informal meet-up for intermediate learners to practise their Gaeilge. More info to follow.

Our survey earlier this year showed:
(Stats below!)�🇮🇪 100% of members who responded to the survey want a more prominent role for Irish language in the club�🗣️ 60% want more opportunities for adults to use Irish�🏡 64% would like to see a Pop-Up Gaeltacht
We’ll keep working towards these goals and more.
