It was an up and down day for Thomas Higgins at the Irish Open in Doonbeg. A birdie and an eagle helped him to two under par after 9 and in the top 15.

However he slipped back on the back 9 and a couple of double bogeys didn't help. He finished his round on 4 over 74 .
The conditions worsened as the day went on but he plays tomorrow in round 2 at about 3pm.

Best of luck again Thomas!!

I’m incredibly proud to announce that I have officially turned professional and will make my professional debut this week at the at

This is a moment I’ve worked towards for a long time, and I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has helped me get here. A special thank you to my family and friends, , and my coach for their continued support, guidance and belief in me throughout my amateur career.

While this week marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, the work is only getting started. Having already progressed through Stage 1 of DP World Tour Q-School, I’ll compete at Stage 2 at the end of October as I continue working towards earning my place on tour.

Proud of the journey so far and incredibly excited for what’s ahead.

Well done to Rusty Hession, the Hession family and every one connected with the Stephen Hession Memorial fund-raiser for Hospice on Saturday.

We will have a final figure raised in the next week or so.
