Best of luck to our five Roscommon athletes proudly representing Connacht at the Tailteann Games in Carlow IT tomorrow, Saturday 20th June. Reaching this stage is a great honour and achievement, congratulations to all involved.

This prestigious event also presents an exciting opportunity, with the top two athletes in each event earning selection to represent Ireland at the Schools International (SIAB) Track & Field Championships in Belfast on July 18th.

Our athletes headed to Dangan Track in Galway this evening to compete in the Connacht Relays, and the trip was definitely worthwhile, with all four teams bringing home medals.

🏆 1 Connacht Championship title
🥈 3 Connacht silver medals
✅ Qualification secured for Nationals on Sunday, 12th July

⭐️ U14 Boys 4×100m Relay – 1st place – 52.57 🥇
⭐️ U16 Girls 4×100m Relay – 2nd place 🥈
⭐️ U17 Girls 4×100m Relay – 2nd place 🥈
⭐️ U18 Girls 4×100m Relay – 2nd place 🥈

Well done to everyone who took part - it was certainly worth the dash to Galway on a sunny Monday evening. A big thank you to all our coaches and to everyone who helped transport the teams.

🔥 CHAMPIONSHIP RECORD BREAKER! 🔥

A massive congratulations to Andrew Nolan (U15 Boys) on an outstanding performance at the Connacht Track & Field Championships 👏

Andrew claimed:
🥇 Gold – Shot Putt (with a new Championship Record!)
🥇 Gold – Discus
🥈 Silver – Javelin

His incredible throw of 16.27m in the Shot Putt set a new Championship Record - a phenomenal achievement and a reward for all the hard work and dedication. Well done to Coach Enda too who is doing great work with all our young throwers.
