Another incredible display from up and coming star Ewa this weekend at the Leeds Open, showing determination, resilience and fighting spirit from start to finish.

Ewa was tested time after time throughout the day, competing in large, difficult categories against strong opposition and never once backing down from the challenge.

Her results speak for themselves:

🥈 Sanbon 13-14
🥇 Ippon 13-14
🥈 Sanbon 15-17
🥉 Ippon 15-17

To step up into older age categories and continue bringing home medals is a huge achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and hours of training being put in week after week.

What impressed most was not just the medal haul, but the composure, heart and maturity shown throughout so many tough fights during the day.

The future continues to look incredibly bright for Ewa and we cannot wait to see what comes next for this talented young athlete.

Leeds Open
Sunday 17th May 2026

Another outstanding performance from one of our most talented and dedicated athletes Billy Chen this weekend in Leeds. Not only a fantastic competitor, but also an incredibly hardworking coach who is always willing to help others, support teammates and lead by example in every class.

In the 15-17 Years Ippon category, Billy was absolutely dominant, conceding just ONE single point throughout the entire division on the way to an incredible 🥇 Gold Medal performance.

The 15-17 Years Sanbon division was packed with very tough opponents, but after some excellent fights Billy battled his way to a fantastic 🥈 Silver Medal.

Stepping up again into the older 18-21 Years Sanbon category, Billy gained invaluable experience and still managed to secure an outstanding 🥉 Bronze Medal — a huge achievement for a 17 year old competing against older athletes.

The future is incredibly bright and we are looking forward to seeing this star rise to the top once again at the Irish Open in June.

Another fantastic performance from one of our standout young athletes this weekend 👏.

Not only is he an excellent athlete who fought incredibly well and brought home an impressive medal haul, but he also continues to set the standard off the mats. A true role model for the younger students, he gives his time to coach junior classes and acts as a mentor to those coming up behind him.

Always positive and always leading by example - this is what our club is all about. A huge well done, and very well deserved success! Watch this space...

Another incredible showing this weekend from a small squad and what really stood out wasn’t just the medals but the attitude behind them 👊.

The effort from start to finish was outstanding. Every match, every kata, every moment on the mat showed real fighting spirit and determination. This is what happens when hard work at training turns into confidence in competition 💥

Dedication like this doesn’t come overnight. It’s built week after week, turning up, pushing through tough sessions, and constantly striving to improve. And it’s clear to see that all that commitment is paying off in a big way.

A huge credit must also go to the coaching. The guidance, time, and belief shown in these athletes is shining through in their performances. Having that level of support makes all the difference and it is evident in the composure, skill, and mindset on display. Thank you especially to Sensei Martin and all the black belt instructors!

🔥 An incredible talent… and she’s only getting started! 🔥

After previously highlighting the rise of our up-and-coming star Ewa Buc Chamera, we are absolutely delighted to share her latest outstanding achievements at the 18th UKF Invitational in Donegal 🥋

Ewa didn’t just compete, she dominated across multiple divisions, bringing home an unbelievable medal haul:
🥇 13 Sanbon
🥇 13 Kata
🥇 14–15 Sanbon
🥇 15–17 Team Rotation
🥇 15–17 Ippon

This level of performance across both kata and kumite categories is a testament to her relentless work ethic, focus, and fighting spirit. She continues to raise the bar every time she steps onto the mats, showing maturity and skill well beyond her years.

Her progression is no accident, it reflects countless hours of hard training, dedication, and the continued guidance and support from her coaches, Sensei Martin Nulty and Peter Sheeran in her corner on the day.

Fantastic British championships for our rising Star ⭐ Ewa Buć Chamera.

MNK, Martin Nulty Karate, Rathcoole and Kilashee are delighted to share fantastic news about one of our students, Ewa Buc Chamera, who recently represented her club at a major competition, the Liverpool Open and achieved outstanding success.

Ewa won a gold medal in individual fighting and a bronze medal in team fighting, an exceptional result at such a high-level event. Impressively, she won all of her fights ahead of time, demonstrating not only skill but real dominance in her category.

These results confirm her status as one of the top junior fighters in Europe, and highlight her dedication, discipline, and hard work both in and out of competition.
We are extremely proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing her continue to progress and succeed on the international stage in the coming years.
