Kingsriver Community was founded in 1987 and has been providing residential and day support programmes for adults and young people with varying abilities in a community setting since that date. The focus is on people’s abilities rather than their disabilities. The aim is that they are enabled to be included in society as much as possible and that they learn to participate in the world at large. In

itially providing workplace training and employment possibilities through high end furniture manufacture, Kingsriver now concentrates on providing quality, person centred, opportunities in a range of areas including woodwork, arts and craft, health related exercise and living skills. Funded by the HSE, Kingsriver Community also provides a residential service for a small group of people. Programmes are developed in response to the identified needs of everybody including those attending on a daily basis from the local area and our core group of residents. Kingsriver Community is a FETAC registered centre providing accredited courses and an accredited hosting organisation in the Europen Voluntary Service (EVS) programme.

There is nothing better than ending the week with a little self-care and relaxation.
Beatrice recently enjoyed a lovely pamper day, treating herself to a manicure and pedicure and enjoying some well-deserved time to relax.
At Kingsriver Community, meaningful experiences come in many forms. Taking time for activities that bring joy, support wellbeing and build confidence is an important part of living a happy and fulfilling life. Everyone deserves opportunities to feel special, express themselves and enjoy the things they love.
Judging by the smiles, Beatrice thoroughly enjoyed her VIP treatment for the day ❤️

Volunteering is about much more than giving time ,it creates opportunities for connection, confidence, contribution and being an active part of the community.
We are proud to support individuals in pursuing meaningful experiences and opportunities that matter to them.
