The u13 girls made the long trip to last years 1st Division champions, Di**le Bay Rovers for their toughest away trip of the season.

The girls showed great team spirit and put in an amazing battling performance to grind out a well earned draw.

Castleisland goalkeeper Thea Ryan put in a fantastic performance to keep the Di**le forwards out, while Castleisland themselves were dangerous on the break.

Castleisland's Emma Reidy opened the scoring early in the second half by getting her foot to a high ball in the box.

Di**le equalised with less than 10 mins to go when a half blocked down long range shot looped high into the net.

A great battling draw for the girls to open their league campaign. Maith sibh cailiní. 👏

Great start to the season against a strong Listowel team on tough underfoot conditions with the pitch haven't recently been renovated. First half was a tight affair with Castleisland struggling to create chances on the bumpy pitch and Listowel trying to catch us on the break and succeeded just before half time to leave it 1-0.
Second half we controlled the game more and limited Listowel breaks and deservedly scored two with Eoin O' Brien scoring a cracking free kick and a great finish from Liam for the winner. MOTM was Padraig who controlled midfield and created some good chances

A tough opening fixture away to Mastergeeha B ended in defeat. A good first-half performance had the teams level at 2 a piece. Matthew O Sullivan scored twice after assists from Billy Moriarty and Ryan Clifford. Mastergeeha came out strongly in the 2nd half and scored two quick goals. Castleisland tried hard but were unable to beat the Mastergeeha keeper.
