Last Sunday, we were proud to host the Masters and Para Rowing Regatta at Castleconnell Boat Club. Now in its second year, this event is quickly becoming a highlight of the rowing calendar, bringing together clubs from across the country to celebrate Masters and Para rowing in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
We were blessed with fantastic weather, which added to the wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. It was great to see so many athletes, supporters, volunteers, and clubs come together to enjoy a day of racing, friendship, and community spirit.
A special congratulations to our Para rowers Shane Ryan, James Tierney, Shane O’Malley, and Joe Cunningham, who represented Castleconnell Boat Club. We are delighted to recognise their achievements and contribution to such a memorable day. Congratulations to club President Roisin Hartigan and Yvonne Ahern on their win 💪 💪To Lorna Fenton and Angelica Risquez another winning double 💪💪 and to our composite 4x+ many congratulations to Meave, John, Eoghan and Vinny! Our Masters had a busy weekend helping to organise, set up and run the regatta yet alone race! 🤩
A sincere thank you to all the volunteers, officials, supporters, and visiting clubs who helped make the event such a success. We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year.

Wishing our own Alex Kennedy and Daniel Hickey the very best of luck as they head to Cork for the final Irish trials at the NRC this Saturday.
Everyone at Castleconnell Boat Club is immensely proud of what they have achieved. Both Alex and Daniel are fantastic crewmates and true ambassadors for the club ❤️🩶 A credit to themselves, their families, and their coaches.
All the hard work, dedication, and commitment has brought them to this point, and we know they will give it everything this weekend.

What an incredible weekend at the Castleconnell Boat Club Sprints Regatta! ☀️🚣‍♀️
We were delighted to welcome clubs from near and far to the beauty of the World’s End for a fantastic weekend of racing, sportsmanship, and community.
Saturday saw our junior crews take to the water in singles, doubles, pairs, coxed quads, and octs, with brilliant racing and proud podium moments. Sunday belonged to our Masters and Para-Rowers, bringing another day of competitive racing and great camaraderie 💪
A huge thank you to Waterways Ireland, Rowing Ireland, all competing clubs, volunteers, officials, supporters, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes who helped the regatta run so smoothly. Special thanks as well to Joe Cunningham for race commentary and Tony McDermott for supporting our BBQ 🍔
From the slip stewards to the finish line crew, the bakers, BBQ chefs, shop volunteers, coaches, parents, and supporters — this weekend wouldn’t have been possible without you ❤️🩶
Thank you all for making it such a memorable weekend. We loved welcoming everyone to Castleconnell and hope to see you back at the World’s End again soon!

Huge congratulations to the athletes from CCBC who proudly represented Ireland at the 4th Para-Rowing Regatta at the Île-de-France Nautical Stadium — an iconic Olympic and Paralympic venue from Paris 2024.
Competing on an international stage is a tremendous achievement, and your dedication, determination, and commitment continue to inspire both the club and the wider rowing community.
Well done to Shane Ryan, Shane O’Malley and Joe Cunningham representing both CCBC and Ireland with such pride ☘️ And special mention to Ella Keady from who was also part of the team. We are all incredibly proud of you!
