Our U11 girls played Regional United at Castleconnell AWP on a wet Saturday morning. This match was a very close and exciting game with our girls eventually coming out winners. Goals from Eabha Nestor, Bella Bennis and Marissa Boyle. Captain was Rita Morrissey and player of the match was Marissa Boyle who never stopped all game and got her goal to top off a great performance. Well done to the 5 girls who played the u12 game on Friday night and got up early Saturday morning to play again. Thanks to Regional for a very sporting game.

Our U15A team were at home to Mungret/Regional in the league on Saturday. Missing a few players due to the long weekend the players response was excellent. Midway through the first half Mungret took the lead and remained that way until half time. A few changes and we started to control the game and created some great chances but try as we did could not find the goal that we deserved. All the players gave it their all on the day. Special mentions for Jayden, Ronan, Kacper,Dylan, Kelvin and motm Adam Healy. Best of luck to Mungret for their remaining fixtures.

Our U13A team traveled to Geraldines AFC Limerick for a Saturday afternoon game. From the start both teams showed their attacking and defensive capabilities. We broke the deadlock with a cool finish from our in form striker Fred. Some great saves from Kordian in goals kept Geraldines out until a long range shot brought the game level. The second half was much the same as the first with both teams playing some great soccer. Geraldines then went ahead but our lads were quick to respond with another cool as a breeze finish from Fred. We were unlucky not to go ahead when a lovely ball from Fred was denied by the Geraldines keeper at the near post. It looked like we were heading for a share of the points when Geraldines were awarded a free kick outside our box. An unlucky deflection found its way into the net. Leaving us down and that’s the way it finished. It was a great game to watch and credit to our lads and the Geraldines lads for such a good sporting game. Also thank you to our referee Alan Kinkead who let the game flow. This was a real team effort by all & a big thanks to our U12 player Logan O'Reilly who helped us out.

Our U13C team recorded their first win of the season on Saturday morning against Corbally United in Scanlon Park. We were switched on from the first minute working hard as a team, defending well and creating some good chances to keep the game scoreless at half time. The second half was a repeat of the first. We were defensively sound, showing great cohesion and tested the Corbally keeper with good clean strikes. We deservedly broke the deadlock with a perfect through ball from Alex which was finished expertly by Bobby. Shortly after we went up again via a long ball from Aoibhin scored by Donnacha Ryan. A deserved win for a great group of kids. Despite a tough season so far the coaches are super proud of this group who turn up for training each week and have worked hard all season to improve as soccer players. The hard work paid off today with super performances all over the pitch.

Our U12 girls welcomed newly crowned league champions Caherconlish Afc to Scanlon Park on a lovely sunny Friday evening. Our girls started strong and were on top for periods of the game and were unlucky not to score. Caherconlish managed to score a well worked goal and that made the girls up the pressure and a few minutes later they got a well deserved equaliser after some hard work by Faye O’Connell and a good pass by Lauren Hannan into Eabha Nestor who slotted the ball into the net to equalise just before half time. Second half started and both teams pushed for another goal, both teams had some great chances and our goalie Rita Morrissey pulled off some great saves. Unfortunately a good long range strike found the back of our net to put Caherconlish ahead. Our girls pushed hard for an equaliser but unfortunately ran out of time. These girls have come along way from the start of the season and they should be proud of the effort they put in where they pushed the league winners to the final whistle.

Great win for our U12B team on Friday vs Aisling Annacotty AFC in Scanlon Park.
A flying start to the game from Ronan put us one up. They were very evenly matched teams but our lads stayed focussed and worked hard for every chance. Ben Molloy scored our 2nd after a mix up in the Aisling defence and Matthew calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner for our 3rd. Lastly Michael scored with a rocket of a penalty. Great win with everyone playing very well ,in particular Michael Collins and Michael Lucey.

Our U13A team were delighted to be back in action on Thursday evening in against Shelbourne AFC B in Shelbourne Park. After a series of match cancellations we feared the worst when their was no sign of the Ref at kick off time but thankfully the late evening kick off eventually got underway as the sun was coming into its final embers. We should have capitalised on numerous chances in the first 10 mins with great determined play from our captain David Comber and midfield powerhouse Sean Corrigan put us on the front foot but it was Shelbourne who took the lead with a powerful high shot from outside the box that no keeper would have saved. We got an equaliser straight away when Rian rattled the post and stuck the rebound into the roof of the net. A very contentious penalty broke our momentum and Shelbourne regained the lead heading into half time. We took to the field in the second half and fought for the ball a lot more showing great spirit and skill at times but try as we may we met a keeper in great form. We were a nice bit off the level that we know we can play at and learned a tough lesson against a hardy streetwise Shelbourne team. The stand out performance came from Rian Hurley who showed his class in midfield and resembled a prime Zidane evading tackles with roulettes and taking the ball without fear under pressure. We go again on Saturday morning with another chance to show how good of a team we can be.
