Full article: A reception hosted by Bray Sailing Club marked a warm welcome for Bray Rowing Club, following the clubโs new premises allocation by Wicklow County Council.
Held at the Sailing Club last weekend, the event celebrated the growing community of water-based organisations at Bray Harbour. Representatives from 5th Wicklow Bray Sea Scouts and Bray Sea Anglers also attended, signalling a unified front among the four voluntary harbour-based clubs.
Bray Sailing Club Commodore John Treanor praised the Councilโs decision to repurpose the vacant harbour building for water sports:
โWe are delighted that the vacant building in the harbour has been allocated to a water-based club and congratulate the members of Wicklow County Council on their wise decision,โ he said.
He added, โWe hope that the arrival of our new neighbours will highlight the importance of our harbour to the local community.โ
Bray Rowing Club Chairperson John Curran responded with gratitude.
โThe members of Bray Rowing Club are delighted to have received such a warm welcome... we look forward very much to becoming a part of the harbour usersโ community.โ
The event served not only to welcome the Rowing Club but to strengthen cooperation between all four groups operating from Bray Harbourโsailing, rowing, scouting, and sea angling.
