🚨TheLakes10k Race 2026 - On Sale now 🚨

The Lakeshore Striders are delighted to launch our annual Lakes 10km race on the 12th of September 2026. Link in comments, can be found on Eventmaster, or scan the QR code on the poster!

This is an unmissable race, a 10km loop around the scenic Blessington Lakes, passing over Blessington Bridge on the 9th km.

Ideal race for anyone in an Autumn marathon block, but suited to everyone looking for a race with a difference.

Hurry, there’s a special early bird rate of €30 for the first 50 entries!

What a day of firsts for some of our juvenile athletes who took part today in the U12/U13 and juvenile Leinster competition in Tullamore. 12 athletes in total competed with several making it into finals in their events. A special mention to Ryan Kelly who placed 2nd in the U12 high jump and will now progress to nationals. There was also new pb’s and most importantly smiles all around as they supported each other and embraced the experience.

On Friday the 15th of May over 40 Striders partook in the 5 mile. This race is becoming a highlight in the racing calendar for the club. A fast course with a warm reception afterwards, what more could you ask for!

For the 3rd year in a row the Striders brought home the winning team top prize. And well done to .pe.obrien for winning the M50 category. We also had a massive turn out from the C25k contingent. Well done at all and thank you to for a great event!

The Wicklow Way Relay
What a weekend! We had a massive showing from the club, with over 20 of our runners competing across multiple teams, and a fantastic group of members who stepped up to volunteer. A huge well done to the race organisers at IMRA and to everyone who took part and gave it their all on the day! 🏃‍♂️⛰️

Our U12+ athletes have been competing in Day 2 and Day 3 of the Wicklow Championships and all we can say is WOW ! We are so proud of every single strider. There’s a mass of medals, PB’s, firsts and smiles coming home 🤩

What an unbelievable day for the club - Day 1 Wicklow Championships.

First up was the Juvenile Awards for U8-U11. Every single child was brilliant as they moved between distance, sprint, javelin and long jump. Next up was their relays and they all played a stormer bringing home a haul of medals.
From U8 - Masters the club took part in relays all the way through the ages. We cheered each other on, inspired each other and most importantly we showed up for each other. It’s incredible how far we have come in 1 year and to see juvenile and seniors compete together in the same day was a great milestone 🤩

We are looking forward to tomorrow for Day 1 of the Wicklow County Championships. Up first is the juvenile awards U8-U11 then it’s relays all day up to and including the masters categories 🤩
