Lakeshore Striders is a senior and juvenille athletics club based in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. For info on joining please email [email protected].

Lakeshore Striders are a senior running club based in Blessington, Co. Formed in 2007 we have around 80 members and this continues to grow. 2011 saw the completion of a 400m gravel running track at Blessington, Community College which is of huge benefit to our club. Our club is all inclusive, from beginners to marathoners and new members are always welcome. Lakeshore Striders is also the host club for The Lakes 10k race. We are very proud of the face that over the past 3 years this race has raised over €52,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland. This highly regarded race is a must for any runner.

Well done to all 59 striders who made their way to Aughrim tonight for round 2 of the juvenile league. Everyone had great runs and an extra congratulations to all the striders on their first ever run with us. A special thanks to Olwyn for the sandwiches and treats 😋

The clocks have gone back, but we’re keeping the miles going!

As part of Athletics Ireland Run On campaign, we’re giving our Thursday run a little extra push this week.

We’ll be heading out for our usual lap of Blessington town. Whether you run, jog or walk, come along and get involved!
🌟 Be safe, be seen! Don’t forget your reflective gear, head torches and running lights.

The Dublin Marathon 💙

Last weekend more than 25 Striders came together to take on the Dublin City Marathon. We had the training, the gels, and the miles under our belt. Even with the windy conditions we braved it together, running past iconic landmarks, sharing the road with new runners and old friends. This is what it's all about.

They say cross country is not for the faint of heart and that was certainly true today and what a day it was for our athletes.
First up was our u10s ( Isabelle, Noah and Damhan ) who all ran excellent races, with a special mention to Damhan finishing 4th. Next up was our championship races with Joshua U12, Jake and John U14.
The boys target was to make the county teams to make nationals and all three boys smashed it. All the hard work paid off today.
As a county, Wicklow U12 boys placed 3rd and U14 boys placed 2nd overall. Absolutely brilliant achievements at Leinster standard.

What a great morning at Avondale for the uneven XC county championships.

We also had strong finishes and individual placings in our U13/U15/U17.

Last night we had our annual club mile. Our first year doing it as a graded race.

Well done to Aoife who represented the club and county at the National Championships today in the U14 High Jump. Aoife placed 10th overall in the country with lots of experience gained to carry forward to next year 🤩
