🙌10 Years In The Fitness Industry 🙌
Here are some beliefs and observations I have about Gym's and the industry in general.
1. Some people don't ask for advice that should. Other people ask for advice and don't take it. Usually the people who ask for advice and take it experience the most success in the Gym.
2. A clean Gym is not just a clean Gym. It shows people that you care about your product and their experience. A clean gym sets standards. A mentor once said to me "Would you sell a dirty car? Well you won't sell a dirty gym". That mentor was Simon Redmond, my boss hitfitsf
3. Training is a privilege. People often see it as a chore. Not long ago Gym's were closed, Social distance was normalised and training in an equipped facility was prohibited. Remember the above when you aren't in the mood to train or are rolling your eyes at your coach 🤣
4. Different fads or buzzwords emerge in the fitness industry from time to time but the principles of training rarely change. Master the basics and that will give you a platform to adapt training to fit your age, stage of life, or goal.
5. Training for a goal is at times very boring. Training programs aren't entertainment, they simply involve repeating a task several times until you get progressively better at said task.
6. I dont like Hyrox Or Tryka 😲..... for now. I actually think both are brilliant for fostering community and adding a competitive edge to training. They simply do not align with my personal goals right now. I want to stay fit and avoid injury for team field sports. My focus is staying strong and fit for football and I think the training volume involved in Hyrox and Tryka would put me at risk of Injury while still playing football. So leave me alone 🤣
7. Good Coaches Make Good Coaches. I believe where you work, and who you work with will determine how good a coach you can become. I've been blessed to work with some amazing coaches in America, Dublin and here at All In Fitness. I think most members appreciate the quality of Coaching at All In Fitness. We have had some exceptionally talented coaches at the Gym.
Hopefully I'll have more to say in another ten years 🫡
