An incredible morning in Riverstown this morning welcoming Katie Taylor to St Joseph’s National School .
What an incredible atmosphere around the School and Katie was just fantastic .
You could hear a pin drop when Katie spoke as hundreds of kids were left in awe .

Finally confirmed.

Now, as Katie Taylor announces that her final fight will take place on home soil on September 5th, boxing prepares to celebrate a career that transcends medals, titles and records.

For more than twenty years, Katie has defined excellence in boxing.

She transformed women's boxing, and contested the first women’s bout in our federation in 2001. She inspired a generation of athletes and carried Irish sport to places few could have imagined. From the amateur ranks to the bright lights of the professional game, she never stopped raising the standard.

One of the greatest athletes this country has ever produced.
One of the most influential figures in the history of boxing.
One of the very best to ever do it.

Katie will box her final fight against Flora Pili at Croke Park on 5 September.

A busy Bank Holiday Weekend for the Club.
Saturday in Mitchelstown as part of the support Bouts for the Ireland 🇮🇪 v Netherlands 🇳🇱 International held by Munster Council Michael Dooley was in top form .
In control in all three rounds against a very good opponent from St Pauls Nenagh , Michael claimed a unanimous decision win.
Meanwhile in Connemara , Co Galway at the West of Ireland Novice Competition eight of our Boxers got a huge amount of rounds between exhibitions and contests , Coaches Colin Barry and Brian Nolan were delighted with the way our lads performed over the two days against very good opposition.
Well done to Jake Heaphy, Johnny McDonagh, James Rodgers and Mia Murphy all ten year olds of our under age group and John O Driscoll, Patrick McCarthy, Conor Lee and Evan Fawzi from our competition group . The two days will stand to all eight Boxers in the future.
Thanks to the parents for getting on board with us for the weekend, it meant a great deal to the Club and of course to the Boxers .
Thanks to Galway County Board and particularly Alan Donnelan for all the hard work he did for this Competition.
