New Season. New Goals. New Plan.

Autumn is starting. Kids are going back to school. Routines will be settling. It’s time to get your ass in gear.

Did you promise yourself in January that you would make time for you, prioritise your workouts, and nail your nutrition? Have you managed to do it?

If the answer is no, you don’t need to change your goals, you need a new plan. A structure that works WITH your life. Habits you can embed into your day to day ALONGSIDE all the chaos. And a programme that will help you get the BASICS nailed. For good.

No fads. No over complicated nonsense. No generic one size fits all approach.

Just the basics. Built into day to day life. Made to work FOR you and your life, not against it.

Client Spotlight: Leigh Baker

Leigh shows up and gives it his all every week. He may have a few choice words and names for me as he does so, but no matter how hard I push him, he gives it everything every time. Leigh brings such a good attitude to sessions; he’s here to work hard, get the most out of sessions, keep chipping away at goals and progressing over time rather than expecting miracles overnight, and is committed to making changes for the long term, inside and outside of the gym. Despite life being tough at times, Leigh doesn’t use that as a reason to give up on his goals but uses that to fuel them instead.

I am so pleased with the progress Leigh has made. Growing in confidence, developing great technique, smashing PBs all the time, and trusting the process.

Not only that, Leigh has gone out of his way to be our unofficial handyman, curry provider and falls prevention officer.

I can’t wait to see how far Leigh can go. LFG.

Instagram AND reality (and yes I mean “and” rather than “vs”.)

Sometimes it’s the highly nutritious food. AND. sometimes it’s not. The thing is, you can do both. I will always post that pizza I’ve eaten (yep, I’ll be having a whole one for myself, thank you), the cake, the ice cream. AND the meals that are based around wholefoods, veg, fruit, protein and a portion size relevant to my needs.

Having a completely rigid attitude towards your diet can make food feel like something you have to restrict and manage at all times. It means missing out. It means giving yourself a hard time. It means denying yourself things you really like. And often this rigidity is not sustainable and your diet ends up going in the completely opposite direction in the long run.

Life is short. Eat the pizza (mmm, pizza). AND eat the broccoli.

Need a hand shifting an all or nothing mindset towards nutrition? Drop me a message to chat about the changes we can make to help you!
