Oh dear!
We celebrate our successes but our trip to the Junior Champions event at Woodhall Spa for 3 days this week comes into the category ‘could do better’
It was a great golfing occasion over 2 days, but our Juniors will be better prepared if we qualify in future.
27th County out of 31..
Meanwhile…
Good luck to Aaron as he sets off to California on Saturday, and we hope to welcome him and his family to our Junior Presentation evening in December.

Can Worksop, representing Nottinghamshire, become England Junior Champions??
Joel & Jesse had a practice round today on the Bracken course, Woodhall Spa, home of England golf.
Tomorrow they and Aaron play a round of Stableford, followed by a second round on Wednesday.
The best 2 rounds on each day are added together for the Team score.

On Wednesday with a reduced field because of Junior County matches,
Jasper retained his Generation Cup.
Last year it was with the Club President Jean, this year with the Club Captain Martin!
On Sunday with a good turnout, he attempts to hat trick the Junior Centenary Trophy.
Meanwhile today the Junior Team of Amelia Joel & Jack, have their last Sheffield fixture against Lees Hall.

Good win 2-1. 🏌️‍♀️🤗
This Saturday is Toby’s Captain’s Day - as usual with The Smiths it will be different!!
Next Notts match is Sunday 19th July v Coxmoor Away & we certainly need to be on top form to compete with them. 👍😁

We had a bit of a wake up call yesterday at Newark
Opposition new to InterClub, but we lost 1-4
We have an excellent squad of low handicappers, but I’m sorry, I saw too many poor shot selections.
Sometimes simple golf is the answer
Don’t overhit
Keep the ball short when the ground is hard and running
We are always playing the course
Not the opponent

She was 1 under through 31 holes then dropped off a cliff lol but over all she came 4th and will play for England against wales…

This was the message from Amelia’s dad, Michael, this evening, about her 36 holes in the English Schools Finals today
All at WGC are delighted at her success!

George Cordall has just finished 4 years in the USA, and we all wish him well on the Professional circuit

Amelia is following a long line of successful Worksop boys- I think she may be the first girl to appear on our Club Honours Board
