Delighted to say that Worksop Juniors will represent Notts in the Junior All England Final at Woodhall Spa on Tuesday & Wednesday 11th & 12th August

104 players from 48 clubs
A qualifier for the Ping Junior Masters at Close House Northumberland in October half term

On Saturday in our Junior match v Rufford we had the high point of the season so far
Jack B was giving Ethan D 27 shots
Jack got a 2 on the last to halve his match !!
Good matches played in the right spirit

Almost on the point of closing entries into this year’s Lee Westwood Junior Open

The Junior Ryder Cup over two weekends was won by Captain Toby of the USA.
Shed a tear for Vice Capt Joel, of Europe, but he’s played rather successfully since!
Sunday 12th saw the Juniors winning against Notts, Oakmere- always tough opponents
Sat 25th is the first Sheffield Union game against Wheatley at Home

Sunday 25th is the first Junior Stableford of the season

Meanwhile entries are coming in for the Club Junior Open,aka, the Lee Westwood, on Wednesday 27th May.

I was told today that it appears that it’s a Boys Open.
Wrong!
The Flyer has been tweaked to show that it is for BOTH boys and girls.
Apologies if girls felt left out.

Yesterday was day 1 of the new, Worksop Juniors, Ryder Cup.
Captain Toby choosing the European team.
Vice captain Joel the team USA.
After 4 Foursome matches, and 1 Singles, Europe lead 5-0.
Day 2 next Saturday sees 10 Singles matches.
Tuesday we have the last Winter Dukeries at Rufford - which clashes with both County matches and Hollinwell Junior Open, so Clubs are struggling for players..
Next Sunday is our first Notts match of the season, Oakmere Away.
Go team Worksop!!

It will be the 28th Lee Westwood Junior open on Wednesday 27th May
At Worksop golf club.
This is a qualifier for the Ping Junior Masters held at Close House Northumberland at October half term
Last year we had 90 players with 3 girls and 6 boys going forward to Close House.

All 90 enjoyed themselves!

There will be a Start sheet based on age and Handicap.
There are 3 age groups for Boys and Girls, but I need your Date of Birth.
I have this for all returning players, but if you are entering for the first time….I need it!

New Junior Captain Toby & his dad Matthew have come up with the idea of a Junior Ryder Cup for the next 2 Saturdays
Toby & Vice Captain Joel are the opposing Captains and so far 18 Juniors are competing
We don’t know the format as Matthew & Sarah are visiting their eldest son Callum in the States - but all will be revealed this weekend. 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♀️😁😁
