Looking forward to joining the grid later in the year 🙌🏼

The second installment of the Mr. Transit Swift Sport Challenge takes place this Sunday at Silverstone, poised to feature another record-breaking grid.

The near-capacity field sees James Saggers leading the championship after scoring a double victory at the Donington Park season opener. Rallycross convert Elliott Fewster and Louis Woodward shared the podium with him last month.

After scoring a best result of fifth at Donington, Guy Povey leads the Team Challenge standings and is set to hand over his Swift to son Alex for Silverstone. Samuel Relf won the Novice division both times at the season opener but further drivers will make their racing debut this weekend including Evelyn Wilson and Josh Bolsover.

Mega proud of this trophy last week 🏆🇦🇪

The first time I entered this event, I qualified 27th out of 36 drivers…

About eight events later, with two podiums in the interim 🥉🥉, I finally won it overall 🥇

Anyone who has done the Rookie Cup will know how tough it is to do well in it - it’s close, fast and aggressive! There’s some talented people competing, young and old, so to come out on top feels like a mega achievement.

Solid, measurable progress in karting over the last 18 months and now time to ‘graduate’ to the events moving forward 📈

One of the few places in the world where you can watch an overtake unfold over almost the whole lap 👀

This one of picking up another place near the end of the race after getting shuffled down the order early on…

A big thank you to from Omega Busways for his support with our upcoming switch to the Swift Sport Challenge.

The first time I met Ian, I may have helped him into the gravel at Old Hairpin at Donington Park.

Since that rather awkward first impression, we’ve gone on to have many good battles on track in the City Car Cup, raced together a couple of times in C1 Endurance Series and we regularly put the racing world to rights.

When Ian isn’t racing C1s, Focuses, Pumas, watching BTCC or doing anything else racing-related, you’ll find him running his own transport company, Omega Busways.

Omega Busways is based in Warrington, Cheshire and is trusted by some of the UK’s biggest companies, including Amazon, for employee shuttles.

They also run local bus routes, offer long and short-term contract hire, business travel and more!

As part of his support, you’ll also find a link to his daughter’s YouTube account - TracksideWithLilly - on our new car as she aspires to get into the world of racing blogging so look out for that too 👏🏼

🏁 BRSCC Clubsport Trophy @ Snetterton…

Although Charles would have loved even more cars to battle in class, this was out of his control so the target for the weekend was to beat the competition he did have…

After some decent laps in qualifying, he managed to out-qualify not only the other car in Class E but even more importantly, the car in Class D (class above) too. P1 in class 👌🏼

First rolling start race which was another good experience and after a clean first few laps, Charles maintained his lead in class. After a badly timed pitstop during a SC period, he ended up losing his lead and had to come back again to get the class win which he did 🏆

Great to be back in a car (and bring it home in one piece) after last week’s disappointment. Even better to have a (not so) little trophy for the efforts!

Next round in the summer pending - hoping for even more cars to battle next time out ⏩

It’s a DOUBLE Race Week…

Before we review the disappointment and destruction from the first City Car Cup race weekend of the year, let’s look ahead to what we’re up to this coming weekend…

While I compete in the 6 Hour Trophy Race with the Internationals down at this weekend, will be getting the BMW Compact out for its first run of the year in the Clubsport Trophy down 🚀

Two continents, two cars, two series, two days… lots more of doing what we love as a family 🏁

Plans are all locked in for the year ahead and we’re set to take part in at least 10 meetings in 2026, finishing with the 26 Hours (yes, you read that right) of Dubai in December 💪🏼

With extra karting events and perhaps another surprise event later in the year, this could be our biggest year to date at Hopkins Racing…
