MEMBER SPOTLIGHT | DAN MALING
Some races are about finishing.
Some are about something far bigger.
On 5th July 2026, Dan Maling completed the Outlaw Holkham 70.3:
1.9km Swim.
89km Bike.
Half Marathon Run.
Hours of relentless effort. Months of preparation.
But every stroke, every pedal and every step was driven by something that can’t be measured on a stopwatch.
Dan took on this challenge in support of St Francis Hospice, the charity that cared for his late sister, Claire Maling.
Since 2013, the Maling family have raised an incredible over £75,000 for the hospice. Their unwavering commitment has helped fund The Maling Suite, a dedicated family suite that opened earlier this year, providing a comforting space where families can spend precious time together when it matters most.
That’s a legacy that will continue to support countless families for years to come.
At CrossFit Atlas, we talk a lot about strength. But strength isn’t just about lifting heavier, moving faster or pushing harder.
It’s about courage. Selflessness. Humility. Turning adversity into purpose. Showing up when it’s difficult, not just for yourself, but for others.
Dan lives those values every single day.
We’re incredibly proud to call Dan a member of the CrossFit Atlas family. He reminds us that the strongest people aren’t always those who stand on the podium—they’re the ones who use their strength to lift others, inspire those around them and leave the world a little better than they found it.
Dan, thank you for being exactly the kind of person our community is built around. We couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved, and we’re honoured to have you wearing the CrossFit Atlas name.
