A chilly 7°C at 7.30am this morning for OAR Super Saturday with three crews heading out in Native and Samphire. ❄️

Blustery winds and choppy water certainly kept everyone working hard - a great training session and plenty of fresh air! 💪🌊

What a brilliant OAR Taster Day! 🚣‍♀️☀️

So lovely to see it so well attended, and everyone did brilliantly out on the water 🙌

We couldn’t have asked for a better day for it – sunshine, a beautiful high tide and perfect conditions for giving gig rowing a go. Looking forward to getting you back out on the water soon!

Finished off with a catch-up at the Yacht Club afterwards ❤️

This weekend some of our Harker's Yard Gig Association rowers wil take part in the Cornish Pilot Gig Association - CPGA National County Championships held in Plymouth representing Essex💪🏽💪🏽
Such a proud moment to see so many of our clubs join together to represent Essex.

Five guys in a boat, in the dark and cold at 06:30, doesn’t exactly bode well for social media content 🚣‍♂️🌑

However… they did manage to get a selfie at the end of the session, just in time to catch a beautiful sunrise 🌅🙂

A busy OAR weekend 🩵

Sat morning Crews for Super Saturday training sessions, then Saturday night was our quiz night!

Well done OAR 👏 What a brilliant night we had 🙌🏼

Big thanks to Claire, Jackie Samantha and Clive for pulling it all together. To Karen for another show-stopping raffle 🎟️ and to Tim for being our quizmaster.

And to all our members who came along, and those quizzing remotely too – we appreciate you ❤️

Then early Sunday morning we were back out in Iceni for Cornish Pilot Gig Association - CPGA County Champs training.

Such a fabulous opportunity for rowers from different Harker's Yard Gig Association clubs across Essex to get together, train and row alongside each other in our beautiful Cornish gig, Iceni 🚣‍♀️

What a weekend! Well done OAR 👏❤️

A Mersea Island rowing club completed a 21-mile Loch Ness challenge in winds reaching 30 miles per hour.

Round 1 of the Harkers ’26 Series done! 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️

A great day hosted at Stour Sailing Club in Manningtree showed some really strong racing across all our crews, with Mersea Native Men finishing 4th 💪 And only seconds between us and the few boats in front across all classes!

Next stop Rowhedge – 25th October for Round 2. 🩵
