Congratulations to Steve Bannister who has made it through to the Borough Singles quarter final, along with Richard Parker.

Don’t forget Wednesday evening the team are at home in the league, all support is welcome.

This week Richard Parker has progressed through to the next round of the Borough singles, the final of which will be held here at our club.

Unfortunately the triples in the Borough lost against Colchester West End.

League action returns this week:
Tuesday afternoon triples - the A team are away at Woods in the A division.
The B team are away at Severalls.

On Wednesday evening we play at home against Manningtree and Mistley.

Breaking News: Mersea Island Bowling Club has been chosen to host the borough bowls finals this year, 5-6th September.

This will be a great showcase for the sport on the island and recognition of the work the club puts in.

It’s not all bowls……. Tonight was one of our regular social nights with the 50/50 draw, quiz and food.

A good turnout and we always welcome new members who want to find out more.

With a break fro league action for two weeks, attention turns to the internal competitions.

A frustrating week on the green this week.
On Tuesday the A team lost 6-0 away at Colchester West End.
The B team lost 4-2 at home to Arclight Bowls Club.
On Wednesday the team travelled to Three Clubs but lost 6-2.

On Saturday evening we have our social night with 50/50 draw, quiz and food which always promises to be a good night.

This weeks games didn’t brighten up, just like the weather!!!!
The Tuesday triples A team lost 4-2 at home to Woods leaving them 3rd in the league.
The B team lost 4-2 away at Woods leaving them 6th in the league.
On Wednesday the team lost 6-2 at home to a strong Arclight team leaving the team in 3rd in the league.

In singles, Richard Parker defeated Mark Dines from Woods.

Other Borough competitions continue this coming week.

Mixed results for our league teams.

On Tuesday afternoon our A team won 5-1 against Arclight Bowls Club leaving them 2nd in the league.
The B team won 4-2 against Tiptree Jobserve Bowls Club moving them up to mid table.
Tonight, in the fours league, our team lost 7-1 to Colchester West End.

This week has seen a 100% record in the leagues this week.
On Tuesday the A team won 6-0 away at Tiptree Jobserve Bowls Club.
The B team won 6-0 at home to Colchester.
On Wednesday evening we won 8-0 against Woods.

Our open weekend was held but if you missed it, or if there is anyone out there who couldn't make it for the open weekend and would like to try bowls do give us a ring (07973316981) and we can always arrange a one to one session to suit yourselves.

Great night was at the club on Saturday the 23rd of May the ladies supplied a fabulous ploughman’s supper and pudding. There was fun and games and a 20 question quiz. We also had the first draw of the 50/50 club of which first prize was 40 pounds.

The open weekend continues today so get yourself down to the club and give the sport a go.
