🖤 Run Club Member Spotlight 🩷

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on Maya! 👏

Maya is such a caring and supportive person who always goes above and beyond for everyone involved in the SWS Run Club.

She’s passionate about getting as many people involved as possible and supporting everyone, whatever their goals may be. And that includes the children in our town too!

She’s fantastic with the kids through her work as a teacher, and that caring and encouraging nature really shines through when she’s with us too. 🩷

While she’s busy supporting everyone else, Maya is also getting quicker and stronger every week herself — and it’s fantastic to see her progress! 💪

Maya, thank you for everything you do for the SWS Run Club, including all of the support you give behind the scenes. You play such an important part in making the club a place where everyone feels welcome, supported and encouraged.

We’re beyond lucky to have you, Maya, and long may it continue! 👏🖤🩷

Girls Wildcats Football Sessions – New Delivery Day!

Quick update about our Girls Wildcats sessions! We’ve moved to Mondays, and we’re now training indoors in the hall at Rycroft Leisure.

These sessions are for girls aged 5 to 11. It's a brilliant, low-pressure way to have fun, build confidence, and make new friends in a really welcoming group. 👧⚽️

When: Every Monday
Time: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Where: Rycroft Leisure Centre (Sports Hall), WF4 2BB
Cost: £2 per player (just pay in cash on the day)

We’d love to see some new faces there, so come along and give it a go!

Please tag or share this with anyone who might want to bring their daughter down. 🙌

Come solo or bring a friend — everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a complete beginner, getting back into running or a regular runner, there’s a place for you in our club. ❤️

📅 Every Monday at 6:30pm
📍 Wombwell
ℹ️ Ages 16+

We run a relaxed, traffic-free out-and-back route along the Trans Pennine Trail, with no pressure, no judgement and no competition. Go at your own pace and enjoy being part of an amazing community.

📌 Meet at: Dove Valley Way car park, outside the Netherwood School gates entrance — just 50 metres from the trail.

✨ What to expect:
• A welcoming and inclusive group
• Run, chat and socialise
• Support for all abilities and goals
• Refreshments after the run
• Plenty of friendly faces!

🖤Run Club Member Spotlight🩷

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Nathan! 💪🏻

Nath has been part of the SWS team for many years now and has always been there to support us. Now, he is also such a big part of the SWS Run Club! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Nath is incredibly determined when it comes to getting to that finish line. He knows he might not be the fastest — but that’s not what the SWS Run Club is about. We support everyone, from complete beginners to regular runners!

Last week, he completed the Decathlon 5K, with the finish line being just around the corner from his beloved Sheffield United. ⚽️
Tonight, he took on the hills around Wentworth Woodhouse and showed exactly the determination we know him for! 👌

Well done, Nath! Keep pushing, keep enjoying the journey and keep being such an important part of the SWS family. We’re proud and lucky to have you! 🍀🤞

3 months. 50+ members. One amazing community. ❤️

Three months ago, we started our Community Run Club in Wombwell, and we’re now so proud to have over 50 incredible people as part of the club! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

No pressure. No judgement. No competition. Just running, having fun and supporting each other with whatever your running goals are.

Tonight, we held our very first Pizza Run 🍕🏃‍♀️ — a brilliant way to celebrate how far we’ve come.

So proud of this club and all the amazing people who make it what it is. 👌

And this is only the beginning! 🙌

What an incredible summer it has been with SWS SPORTS! ☀️🖤🩷

From delivering high-quality holiday provision across Barnsley, Wakefield, and Doncaster, to hosting our very first SWS Family Day.

Over 750 different individuals have taken part in our summer clubs and activities. 🙏🏻

We are only just getting started.

Roll on October! 🤩
