🎾 What a fantastic day to round off our Club Tournament! ☀️🌦️🍻
From first serve to match point, Finals Day had everything – tense rallies, nail-biting finishes, some incredibly close tennis, brilliant sportsmanship, plenty of laughs (and no tears! 😄).
The weather certainly kept us guessing too, serving up everything from passing rain showers to glorious sunshine, with everything in between. But nothing stopped play – we made the most of every minute!
A huge thank you to everyone who made the day so special. Family and friends turned out to cheer on the players, creating a wonderful atmosphere around the courts.
A special mention must go to our super tournament organiser, Suzi, whose hard work behind the scenes made the whole competition a success. Huge thanks too to Jane, who did a fantastic job preparing for the day and making everything run like clockwork, supported by Clive. As if that wasn’t enough, Jane also stepped on court and managed to play in – and win – no fewer than three finals! An incredible achievement. 👏🏆
Off the court, we were spoilt with a great spread of homemade salads, cakes and other nutritious treats provided by our members, while Bob kept everyone well fed with another superb BBQ. And, of course, there were a few well-earned cold beers to toast a great day’s tennis!
Congratulations to all our finalists and winners, with medals proudly presented by Guy – a fitting end to another successful tournament.
Thank you to everyone who played, supported, volunteered, baked, barbecued and cheered. It’s days like these that remind us what a fantastic club community we have.
