* * * IT'S MAINTENANCE TIME ! * * *

We're sure you know that one of our specialist areas of stock is our wide selection of COMPLETE SEASON SETS. You will certainly have seen them on display if you've visited our stall, they come with us to practically all the markets and events we attend.

Every now and then we give some of them a "makeover". They obviously get handled, pick up nicks in their packaging or the tape we wrap them in becomes dry and works loose. We get to a point where some will need to be re-wrapped.

So we've been giving some of our sets some well deserved TLC and freshening them up - though we should add that a handful here are new additions to stock anyway - and thought that while we were re-wrapping them we'd take a few snaps, purely so we could remind you what great items they are.

They are the ideal way to add to your collection quickly and cheaply. Indeed, we had one collector at the West London Programme Fair last weekend who bought a number of sets of Queens Park Rangers home programmes. And of course, they are often the ideal solution for a gift idea - what could be better than picking up a set of programmes for a family member or friend from their club from the year they were born or the season they started following that team ?

Our stock of full sets covers a wide selection of clubs from seasons ranging from the 1960's through to the 1990's. We'll have them for you to browse at The Greenwich Vintage Market on Sunday (doesn't look as if there'll be issues with the weather this weekend !) and when we join Go East Vintage for BOTH days of the Bermondsey Vintage Flea on June 20th/21st.

Oooops, we nearly forgot ! Buy more than one set at a fair or market, and receive £5 OFF EACH SET you buy ! Got that ? Two or more sets = five quid off each set. You can take multiple sets from the same team or go random and take a mix of items from different clubs. Just make sure you bring a sturdy bag !

We can only concur with our friends at Go East Vintage on reflecting on how much organising goes into an event.

You might think from our point of view it's a case of rolling up and slinging a few boxes of programmes and crates of shirts out. We hope that those of you who have visited us at an event or market will understand a bit more than that goes into it.

This coming Sunday we'll be at The Greenwich Vintage Market, before joining Go East at Bermondsey for the whole weekend over June 20th/21st. Typically, we would look to be on the road by around 6.30 am to be at a venue for around eight o'clock.

Presentation is EVERYTHING. Our first priority is to ensure our stall is laid out logically and so it has a natural flow to it. There's no point us putting out boxes of programmes or items without being able to pinpoint precisely where a specific programme may be or to select the items which may be of interest should a collector ask for items relating to their favourite club.

Of course, we get great enjoyment and satisfaction when collectors find something among our material which we know is of interest to them. It might be a programme they have been looking to obtain for sometime, or perhaps from the first match they first attended. Or even better, there may be a far more significant connection to an item we can help them with. While at Greenwich recently we had a Scandinavian brother & sister (along with their Mum) stop by at the stall. Their Dad played for Malmö against Nottingham Forest in the 1979 European Cup Final. You can imagine their delight when we are able supply them with a couple of programmes from the match.

And then at the end of the day, we do it all in reverse, carefully packing away programmes into the correct boxes, ensuring items which may have been mis-filed go back in the right order, and making a note of items which need to be deleted from the website. Then comes the journey home, an hour and a half through Central London's static traffic, and 20mph speed limits. On paper you may see that a market is open for six or seven hours - for us, it will very often mean a fourteen hour day

Would we have it another way ? Of course not ! Trust us.....it beats working properly for a living !!!

* * * EVENT UPDATE * * *

"Well Brian, it's fair to say it's not the result we were hoping for".

Regrettably with heavy rain set for London during most of today, we have taken the decision NOT to take up our stall at The Greenwich Vintage Market. While we're happy to take a chance if light rain or the odd shower is forecast, we simply cannot risk stock getting wet or damp in the conditions likely today.

We'll be hoping for better weather when we're due to head across town next Sunday (14th), and at the end of the month (Saturday 27th).

We will, of course, be at the West London Programme Fair as usual on Sunday.

Here's another great event where we'll be joining our friends from Go East Vintage.

We'll be tucked away safely in the Doodlebar Vaults for BOTH days on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June.

Can you think of a better way to enjoy the "longest days" of the year ? No, neither can we !

* * * NEW STOCK ALERT * * *

Here at NWM Towers it has not been unknown for us to have a rummage at a good car boot sale. Indeed, we're aiming to make the most of the good weather over the Bank Holiday weekend and visit a couple of local ones.

But there are car boot sales....and there are car boot sales ! In fact, today we went to a rather unusual one - indoors at a West London football ground.

It's become something of a 'tradition' a couple of weeks after the season finishes that Queens Park Rangers open their doors and make their unsold stock available at attractively low prices. Too good an opportunity for us to miss !

When we visited last year, it was mainly "as new" training gear in which we invested, but we were pleased to note today that there was a nice selection of match worn/player issue (albeit Academy) shirts available - so as well of a small selection of brand new 2025-26 training wear, we've picked a number of match used shirts, some player issue training tops, match worn shorts, plus a handful of other "new with tags" shirts. A very nice top up to our selection of shirts & sportswear.

Keep an eye on 'The Shirt Shop' section on nwmfootball.com, and the newly acquired items will be loaded later in the week. Your first chance to view and buy will be on Sunday 31st May when we join Go East Vintage for the Hackney Depot Flea.

And THANK YOU Go East Vintage for hosting us on Saturday......even if we did still have customers floating around after official closing time, but you know how it is, quality always sells !!!

Now, like our friends from Go East, we have a well deserved weekend off as we say farewell to Season 2025-26. But we'll be joining them for the Hackney Depot Flea on the SUNDAY (31st May), and the FULL WEEKEND when they're back in Bermondsey on the 20th/21st June.

Sling in trips to The Greenwich Vintage Market on Saturday 6th, Sunday 14th, and Saturday 27th June, the West London Programme Fair on Sunday 7th, and a further visit to Hackney on Sunday 28th, and you can see you have absolutely no excuse not pay us a visit at an event over the coming six weeks.
