We Do Data We're not just any old recruitment agency...WeDoData like no other👏🏼

Diversity targets only mean something if someone's actually tracking them. Brandon from VOID Radio told us exactly how they do it: measuring against the UK Music Diversity Report, watching entry-level numbers, and making active decisions to close the gap.

That's why WeDoData sponsors VOID. Grassroots music has always come from diverse communities, it's the industry layered on top that skews male and white, especially at the entry point. VOID is working against that, and we back organisations that put in the work rather than just talk about it.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to the communities we operate in, alongside our school interview workshops with Olympus Trust. Recruitment and radio might look unrelated, but they share the same problem: who gets the door opened for them at entry level.

You don't need to be a teacher to change a school.

IT, Data, MIS, Finance, Exams. The roles that never make it into the prospectus but keep the entire building running. No 30 kids looking at you at once, no marking pile at 9pm, but the same sense that your work actually matters at the end of the day.

Here's the bit people miss: these jobs progress. Better systems knowledge, bigger responsibilities, genuine leadership paths, not a dead end behind a desk.

And you don't need a background in education to start. If you've got the skills, schools and MATs need you now.

Already working in education, or coming at it from a data/IT background wondering if it'd translate? Tell us what you're looking for, we'll tell you what's out there.

One tip, straight from the workshop floor: put a photo on your LinkedIn.

Feels backwards, right? Every piece of CV advice says keep it faceless. But online, it's the opposite, a face is what makes someone stop scrolling and actually connect with you.

This is the kind of small, practical stuff we cover with students at Bradley Stoke Community School as part of our workshops with Olympus Trust. Not vague "dress smart, be confident" advice, but the tiny details that actually change how someone shows up professionally.

Small tips. Real impact. More of these to come.

Our hottest roles from August are here... and no two roles on this month's list look the same, and that's kind of the point.

We've got a Senior Data Engineer role that's fully remote, an Interim Reporting Analyst contract in SW London paying up to ÂŁ280 a day, and everything in between: hybrid, onsite, salaried, MIS, Payroll, Compliance. Seven roles, seven completely different setups.

That's usually how it goes with data and MIS hiring in this market right now, the "right" role isn't one-size-fits-all, so we try not to treat it that way either.

Swipe through for the full August roundup. If something fits, or you want a second opinion on whether it does, get in touch.

30 volunteers. Zero gatekeeping. This is VOID 🎙️

We sat down with Brandon from VOID, a community-run, volunteer-powered radio station breaking down the cliqueyness still rife in the music scene.

They're broadcasting live from Full Moon Monday to Wednesday, with an online roster reaching DJs across the globe, and this is their biggest crew yet.

But VOID is bigger than radio: festival teams, stage hosting, content creation, web development, every "behind the scenes" role people don't expect. All of it built to give their crew real industry experience.

We're proud to be a community partner for VOID, backing the kind of grassroots opportunity-building that changes careers.

"Students come along feeling much more prepped and much more relaxed." 🎬

That's Lauren from Olympus Trust, sharing what she's seen firsthand after our workshops. The day after a session, students head into a mock interview day, We Do Data notepads in hand, and walk in noticeably more confident for the real thing.

Hearing it from the people on the ground, watching students go from nervous to interview-ready, is exactly why we do this work.

Thinking about bringing this kind of prep to your students? Let's talk.

Most recruiters ask for your CV and call it a day.

We ask what you actually want.

Here's what that looks like in practice, the 5 things we do differently in education recruitment:

1. We ask what you won't compromise on, whether that's remote working or career progression, so we don't waste your time on roles that won't fit.

2. We find out what's actually pushing you to leave your current role, not just what you want, but what you don't want either.

3. We look beyond the job listing to the manager, the team, and the culture, because that's what actually shapes the role day to day.

4. We ask what skills you're looking to develop, so we understand the motivation behind your search, not just your CV.

5. We find out what success looks like for you in two years, so what we put in front of you now actually moves you forward, not just sideways.

Because a role is never just a job description. It's whether it moves you closer to where you actually want to be.

Looking to make your next move in education? Let's talk.

Screenshot this before you scroll past it.

This isn't a trend report or guesswork, it's what's genuinely open across our client base this month, straight from the schools and colleges we work with. Every role below is live right now.

Data & MIS - Reporting and dashboards, trend analysis, and hands-on MIS/student information systems experience.

IT & Infrastructure - Windows Server, Active Directory and cloud infrastructure. The technical depth colleges lean on when things get complex.

Communication Support - Level 3 BSL and hands-on experience supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners across a range of educational settings.

Finance & Accounting - Management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, and financial insight senior leaders actually rely on.

Here's the part people miss: none of this requires a background in education. If you've got the skills, the sector wants you, whether you've ever set foot in a school or not.

If you've ever thought "I don't know if my experience counts" or "I didn't know schools needed someone like me", this is your sign.

Tag the person who needs to see this. Recognise yourself in any of these? Get in touch, roles are live now.

One word to describe A Level results day?

Emotional. Terrifying. Relief. Thrilling. We went out and asked - those answers say everything.

Whether your results today were exactly what you hoped for, better than expected, or not quite what you wanted - this moment is just the beginning. A Level results don’t define your ceiling. They’re just one data point in a much bigger story.

A lot of people don’t realise how many career paths exist in data, IT, MIS, and technology - especially within schools, colleges, and multi-academy trusts. From data analysts and MIS officers to IT support and systems managers, the education sector is full of roles that most people never even think about when they’re picking their next step.

You don’t always need a degree to get started. You just need curiosity, the right skills, and an idea of where to look.

We’re WeDoData - a recruitment agency specialising in data, IT, and MIS roles in the education sector across the UK. Follow us to learn more about the kinds of careers that exist in this space, and what it actually takes to build one.

What happens when students realise university isn’t the only path? 👇

Lauren Stone from Olympus Trust shares the shift she’s seen since WeDoData started running career workshops with their students. More confidence. More curiosity. Real conversations about what a career in data, tech, or finance actually looks like.

Not every route looks the same. And the schools helping young people see that? They’re the ones making a real difference.

This is why the work Jay and the team do matters.
