💯 up for Calum Inglis 🫡

A massive congratulations to Marr’s own Calum Inglis, who is set to make his 100th appearance for the 1st XV this Saturday away at Gala! 💜

Shingles has lived every young Marr boy’s dream, coming through the ranks from minis to seniors, winning the Premiership at 10 aged just 19 and being named Vice-Captain at 23! 🏆

Calum is an inspiration and someone every young player at Marr should aim to emulate. His rugby ability speaks for itself, but the man off the pitch matches this and more! 💜

A true gent around the club, a fan favourite and always up for a chat with the supporters. Calum never shies away from any volunteer work required around the club, makes it a welcoming place for all new youngsters and goes above and beyond for Marr whenever the opportunity arises.

Calum is an integral part of the 1st XV, whether that’s at 10 or 12, and when he is missing from the squad, his absence is clear to see! His organisation, physicality, skill and all-round ability are second to none, and his influence on the team certainly doesn’t go unnoticed! 👏🏻

1st XV teammate Ali Rogers had this to say:

“Congrats mate! What a pleasure it has been to see the boy I shared lifts with up to Motherwell when we were 15 grow into the fine rugby player you are today, reaching 100 appearances for your hometown club.

You bleed purple and gold, and it’s a privilege to cross that white line with you every Saturday! Marr are lucky to have you, and the club just wouldn’t be the same without you!

You are genuinely a club legend, and it’s still so early in your career. I can’t wait to see what comes in the next 100!

Love you mate x”

5’2” 💜

Player Milestone 📣

It’s 50 ⬆️ for Alex Apthorpe this weekend!

Huge congratulations to Appy, who is set to make his 50th appearance for the Marr 1st XV 👏

Since joining the club from Cumnock in 2023, Ap has been a mainstay in the squad, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet, putting in countless MOTM performances and establishing himself as a real favourite amongst the Fullarton Faithful 💜

Appy is known for his aggressive and powerful style of play, relentless in attack and a rock in defence! He is the man the boys look to when they need a spark or some go-forward, and his physicality, work rate and determination have made him a crucial part of the 1st XV 💪

Not only is Appy crucial on matchdays, but he also sets the tone and drives standards at training, ensuring everyone is at the top of their game! Ap, your hard work and dedication certainly don’t go unnoticed! 👏

During his time at the club, Ap has reached both a Premiership and Scottish Cup semi-final and has also represented the Glasgow IDC side in two competitions, winning last year’s championship 💙

Off the pitch, Ap is a true gent! A regular around the clubhouse, always happy to chat away to the minis and a friendly face to everyone around the club. Plus, he can chop a pint like no one else! 🍺

Ap, you’ve certainly made your mark at Fullarton in a relatively short space of time, both on and off the pitch! We hope there are many more years of the same to come and can’t wait to see what your next 50 appearances have in store!

Congratulations, Alex! 💜👏

💜 This Weeks Results 💛

A mixed bag of results this week in some extreme weather conditions.

1st XV came out the blocks firing and played into the wind in the first half and went in at half time with a well deserved 12-10 lead. In the second half with the wind Marr ran away with it scoring some lovely tries in horrible conditions.

POTM - Keir Anderson on debut for his great footwork beating defenders on every carry he made 💪

2nd XV played on the top pitch and dug in deep against a very experienced Watsons side who controlled the weather very well and came away deserved winners.

POTM - Andrew Ramage for the second week running for his big defensive efforts in horrible conditions for a back💪

2A game was unfortunately abandoned because of a serious injury to Callum Cairns but he is home from hospital now and is okay. So everyone from Marr wishes Callum and his family well in his recovery ❤️‍🩹

Massive Congratulations to Keir Anderson on 1st XV Debut and winning POTM in the process💜💛

Keir is a prime example of hard work pays off after working his way up the ranks at Marr. He has been a standout player for the 2s over the last year and throughly deserved his chance yesterday in very tough conditions.

Keir can cover most positions in the back line and slotted in seamlessly at his normal position on the wing yesterday. He has quickly gained a reputation for having unbelievable feet and showed that yesterday beating numerous defenders every time he got the ball.

A proud moment for the Anderson family with Keir starting alongside his brother Ruari. One of four brothers with Struan having an unbelievable season for the u18s as the top scorer and young Lachlan a standout in the s2 team. So watch out there is plenty of Andersons coming through and maybe one day we will see them all play together for the 1st XV 💪.
