Final round of the Mcvitie and Price is on Friday, see poster for details.

This year the Mcvitie and Price has been very generously sponsored by Nord Dallas. As well as prizes for the best totals over all 4 rounds there will also be prizes for the best scores on the day so still plenty to play for.

Just a heads up but there may be a delay in processing the results from tonights medal.

I'm not an IT expert so don't know the technical term but the admin side of the app seems to have gone to sh*te.

Yesterday 125 competitors took part in the NorthLink Ferries Open.

For most, the weather was pleasant, and it was great to have the Juniors out playing as part of this open, although they unfortunately experienced the worst of the weather, getting a real soaking for their entire round, along with the last few groups of men. The excellent sponsorship of great prizes are always sought after but also the food in the clubhouse afterwards was appreciated by all.

7 Juniors took part, some playing in their first 18 hole open! It was a shame they had to dash off afterwards due to getting so wet, but the results were announced and it was nice to have Aiden back to collect his trophy and to get his photo taken along with the men's prize winners.

1st Gross Woody Monkman (82)
2nd Gross Kellan McAlistair (95)
3rd Gross James Hamilton (106)
1st Nett Aiden Schinkel (64)
2nd Nett Mark Thomson (71)
3rd Nett Ally McDill (80)
4th Nett Tom Wishart (85)

In the Ladies section congratulations go to Nicola Sutherland winning the Gross Cup with a 75, and to Sylvia Rae who won the Nett Quaich with a super score of 60!

Other ladies prize winners were as follows -
2nd Gross Kathleen Sutherland (80), 3rd Gross Shona Slater (83).
2nd Nett Anne Spence (65), 3rd Nett Fenella MacLean (67), 4th Nett Karen Dunnett (67), 5th Nett Linda Bonner (68).
The special at the 8th was won by Isla Rendall and at the 18th Moira Nicolson and Fenella MacLean.

The countback machine was certainly put to work in the men's section with the top 6 gross scores being made up of two 66's and four 69's! Congratulations to Lee Findlay who beat Angus Sutherland on countback to win the Gross Cup, which resulted in Angus winning the Nett Quaich beating Ewan McDill on countback for that one! (Both with 61s).

2nd Gross then went to Stewart Fotheringhame and 3rd to Brian Corsie. 3rd Nett was Stephen Shorter (62), and then in the countback of 'the 63 Nett's', Erlend Lennie was 4th, Andrew Reid 5th, and Shane Stanger 6th.
Specials at the 8th, Angus Sutherland & Stephen Shorter and at the 18th, Stewart Fotheringhame and Paul Sinclair.

Thank you to everyone who played yesterday and to Kelsey and Shannon from Northlink Ferries who came along to present the prizes.

It’s been a fairly quiet week of golf for the ladies this past one, with Thursday being the day most chose to play - the third and final
Round of the coveted Gemini Trophy. There was some tremendous scoring with the first score of the day from Lyndsey Rae Sinclair with 45 points! That was followed by Fenella MacLean with 41 , and Elaine Wishart in 3rd with 39.

Once all the scores were in Thursday evening, the scores were totalled with the winner having the best two combined from the possible three rounds. Jen came along to present the trophy which her and Viv donated to the club many years ago.

In Third place with a two score combined total of 75( 38,37)was Karen Thomson.
Second place with 81(40,41)was Fenella MacLean.
Winner of the Gemini Quaich with a fabulous 83( 45,38) was Lyndsey.
Congratulations to Lyndsey on having her best ever gross score!

Next weekend we are holding the ever popular Northlink Ferries Open - Ladies can enter via the Scottish Golf App up until 6pm Thursday.

Can we ask members who stored their battery in the trolley shed and may recently have removed it from there, to check you have taken the correct battery home with you? One of our members battery has gone missing over the past few weeks. Thank you :-)
