Get Ready for the 2026/27 Rugby Season!

The new community rugby season kicks off on Saturday 5 September 2026 and runs through to Monday 17 May 2027.

With RFU player registration opening on 1 July 2026, now is the time for clubs to prepare. All players participating in contact rugby – adult & age grade, new and returning – must complete their registration through the Game Management System (GMS).

In addition, all RFU League and Cup fixtures will require the use of Electronic Match Cards (EMCs) for team selections, scores and match reporting.

To help club volunteers, administrators and team managers get ready for the new season, the RFU is hosting a series of free webinars. These sessions provide practical guidance, live demonstrations and the chance to ask questions directly to the experts.

Age Grade Registration
3 June @ 7:00pm – 8:00pm

πŸ‘ Congratulations from Staffordshire RFU! πŸ‘

A huge well done to Morgan Hodgkins (Stafford) Katie Dening (Lichfield), Charlie Paul (Handsworth), and Alex Robinson (Cannock), who were all selected to represent and play for the England Rugby Women Deaf XV at Stafford Rugby Club yesterday.

It was a fantastic showcase of skill, determination, and teamwork, topped off with a hard-fought, close win at the end. We couldn’t be prouder of our Staffordshire players flying the flag on the national stage. πŸ‰

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the showcase yesterday.

Young Caelan, who plays for the Under 12s and is profoundly deaf, had the incredible honour of being mascot for the England Deaf Rugby team. This unforgettable experience gave him such a huge confidence boost and showed him that being deaf is by no means a limitation. He’s now even more determined to follow his dream of one day playing for England Deaf Rugby Union. πŸ’«

Thank you to Love Joan, Morgan, and the rest of the team for being so welcoming and supportive, it truly meant the world to him.

What a great game and a great day for rugby across Staffordshire!
