Staffordshire Cricket

Staffordshire Cricket Staffordshire Cricket is a charitable body creating opportunities in cricket and supporting the sustainability of the game in Staffordshire.

Staffordshire Cricket is one of 39 County Cricket Boards in England and Wales; we are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and our membership consists of representatives from all areas of the game and its wider partners. Our role begins in bringing cricket to our primary, secondary and special schools by delivering the Chance to Shine programme. We provide high quality coaching of

PE fundamentals through to county cricket competitions including disability, KWIK, Lady Taverners, Chance to Compete and English Schools Cricket Association (ESCA). We deliver Cricket 4 Teachers courses to help sustain cricket in our schools supported by strong club links. We help to develop a safe, welcoming, inclusive and high-quality network of affiliated clubs through Clubmark and Safe Hands compliance support, providing advice on sustainable club development, facility improvement, funding and self-help and volunteer recruitment as well as grounds’ equipment hire to improve our pitches. Our network of cricket development groups brings together representatives from clubs, local authorities and school sport to help grow the game

Development of our cricket coaches is fundamental to our success as a cricket county and we provide a complete list of coach education courses, development workshops alongside safeguarding and first aid courses to help produce a high-quality coach workforce. Our player pathway identifies talented cricketers and helps them to develop to compete to the best of their ability through county age group, Visually Impaired, Learning and Physical disability and senior teams. Our Player Development Scheme (PDS) and our Emerging Player Programme (EPP) readies players for national county, first class county and international cricket. The growth and quality of cricket in the county is supported through our work with officials, umpires and scorers, grounds staff and coaches through a number of strong associations all underpinned by a strong commitment to the welfare of our players. We welcome innovation in the game and support new and alternative formats to help to make cricket as accessible as possible for today’s busy lifestyles. We want more people to say ‘Cricket is a game for me’.

- Please check all dates for the course before booking and ensure that you can do all of the dates. You must be available for all of the dates of the course.

- Those wishing to book onto the course MUST do this themselves, using all of their own personal details. This can't be done by a club or parent on their behalf. This is due to the DBS and e-learning elements of the course.
