Southwell Men are set to go this afternoon in their pre-season match Tupton Rugby Union Football Club

Kick off is at 3pm and expect to see plenty of rotation of players as we continue preparations for the new season.

Clubs like ours rely on community sponsors and we are massively thankful to Simon Davis for his generous offer to purchase training kit for our men’s teams.

Simon has been a prominent member of the town for many years and his son Ned came through our junior section and into the senior ranks.

A great bloke and a great family, all at Southwell Rugby Club want to say a massive thank you Simon 👏

Great to welcome Nicky Little and our friends from Canterbury to the club again this week.

Always a tough fixture for our colts and a spirited performance saw them go down 37-14.

Great to see them back out on the pitch playing and lots of exciting new combinations as last years U16s made the step up for the first time.

Several noteworthy performances but special mention for our man of the match, 2nd row Josh Midgeley.

Wonderful news for the club today as three of our Colts have been selected to join Nottingham Academy U18s for the 26/27 season!

Full back Noa Scott, and back rowers Henry Townsend and Ollie Sargison Bowler all impressed the Nottingham Coaches over a two day trial, despite trialling a year young as Under 17s.

The boys success further the illustrates the strength of our junior program and the wonderful job that our coaches do.

Great turnout for the weekly Family Touch Rugby sessions with players, siblings and parents from many age groups involved tonight.

Plenty of spectators kept well refreshed by the bar team too!

Good to see plenty of 3rd team players stretching those muscles ahead of the new season!
