Reminiscing about all the lockdown walks & bike rides I did with my bubble and how we shouldn’t forget the benefits of all that walking & talking.
Aerobic exercise is an essential part of our fitness routines and a great compliment to Pilates practice. I prefer outdoor aerobic activity but we still need to keep it fresh & interesting with different routes and scenarios.

The Teaser : 🌈

This is one of the more progressive Pilates moves and sometimes I think should be called the ‘Challenger’ rather than teaser, as it really does challenge so many muscle groups. It requires great abdominal & hip flexor strength and control, as well as working through the quads, transverse abdominis, internal & external obliques and a bunch of other accompanying muscles including that of the calf muscles and shoulders….
A signature Pilates exercise that needs to be respected, as it requires skilled balance & coordination between hamstring flexibility and abdominal strength to achieve a successful ex*****on of this movement. There are several variations to this movement, with differing hand / arm positions and progressions with the legs, such as split alternate scissor drops, or double leg lifts, massively increasing the work load.
There are of course modifications and movements that help build & prepare as you are learning the teaser.
