Hey guys getting a lot of interest for this season’s kayak fishing. Here is a list of dates available for the next couple of months.
Due to commitments outside of Catch and Cook, the diary was not previously open.. it is now.
Expecting certain dates to go quickly. Theres a handful of Saturdays which are still free.

Looking forward to guiding some new and regular clients, in what can be the best 3 months of lure fishing Pembrokeshire has to offer. Currently we have a fleet of 6 pedal kayaks and 6 paddle kayaks, meaning we can do big groups when necessary.

We have 2/3 of the paddle kayaks for sale which are the Feel Free Lure in 11.5 & 13.5.

Don’t forget our jig The Ammodyte Jig is available at 25% discount at www.catchandcook.uk, make sure you enter the code MAY25 to apply the discount

Throwback to our best bass since we started the guiding service. Great memory of a super nice evening fishing for bass with Aaron. 4 years ago now. We estimated around 8ish pounds. Taken on a 8-12g black minnow trolled over a shallow bank in maybe only 2-4 ft of water. Released tor breed another day

Well, the Catch and cook bass record has been absolutely smashed!
Myself and Aaron Rushton fancied a short session last night and what evening it turned out to be.
Estimated at 8lbs, this big female fell to a 12g minnow. A few quick pictures and off she went back into the water.
What a sensational catch, caught and released to grow bigger. These breeding females are very important to the bass population and so we always recommend releasing the larger bass over 5lbs.
What a memorable evening, capped off by glassy waters and great company

Good trip with the Swansea lads yesterday. Cheers to Griff, Sennen, Chester & Jacob for making the trip down. We got lucky with the forecast for a start, and we had a fair few fish aboard the kayaks throughout the day. The pollack were thin on the ground for a change mean while the wrasse stole the show with a record breaking 12+ being landed all on the lures. The lads managed a number of bass too early on, with the skies being overcast and grey for most of the day which probably helped.

Next trip:
Wednesday
Multiple spaces available

Thanks to Tony for sending in this picture of his pb Cod on a 450g Ammodyte in the NightFlash variety, taken while on a trip to Noway, one of many lunkers taken on the offshore range.

Hey guys, just to let you know our website is back up and running and we’ve stuck a 25% discount on all merch until the end of May The Ammodyte jig and most sizes all available at www.catchandcook.uk, slight change in domain name from the previous co.uk ending.

Please enter MAY25 at the checkout to get the discount.

We’ve re-rigged a load of inshore ammodytes in the 20-60g range with a better hook and also we’ve rigged a single assist hook at either end of the jig, but these can be transferred back or however the angler feels fit to fish them. We’ve now also restocked the 200g, 300g & 450g with the former two sizes now available in the new cotton Candy Fireflash design too. All of these larger varieties come with twin assist 8/0 big game hooks.

Chuffed to say we’ve now got a nice little collection of pictures from around the world where the lure is working well with a variety of species, to compliment the inshore catches we’ve had in the few years developing the designs since we started the guiding service.

For all trips contact us directly because we have taken down our trips service on the website due to the fact we always need some discussion before arranging the sessions. Just send us a message and we can chat through the process.

We’ll do another post regarding our availability, but there’s is definitely some availability coming up very soon including on the weekend and into next week. Get in touch

First trip of the year yesterday for returning legend .

Even though it was the final day of March, at times felt like May, other times felt like January.

We had a few fish to keep us busy for the day, just pollack making an appearance.

Keep an eye on our stories for future trips

Morning guys. Been a little quiet over here recently.
Just to let you know this weekend there is availability for some kayak fishing. Saturday is free, it’s been a while and we finally have some better weather and air temperatures forecasted.

But going forward…. Lots of people have been getting in touch about future available dates. There’s going to be a bit of a change to how we do it.

Unlike previous years where people have booked whatever long term dates well in advance…..this year days will be released each week or two, and then it’s a first come first served basis. People are more than welcome to send us some general dates when you’re down on holiday, or keen to trip, but those dates are to be rough dates only rather than nailed down dates, or days. A lot of weekends will be out of action, and I’ve a hunch that Mondays and Tuesdays will be free a lot of the time so I would say that these days of the week are most likely to be the ones to book off work for those that work mon-fri.

It’s always been a tricky one to manage, bookings vs weather vs holiday time vs work vs week day vs weekend vs whatever reason. This year will see less hours spent at sea, but we will be operating, just on a more last minute and less frequent basis compared to previous years where all dates and days were available to book well in advance.

So Saturdays trip
8.30am-3pm targeting all things on the lure
5 spaces available

Happy new year to all our friends and clients here at Catch and Cook.
Been out in some freezing conditions over the past week…. With the nighttime producing some results on the weightless & weedless lures. Still a couple of weeks left of ‘the season’.
Here’s mine and Lauries first bass of 2026.

Guiding availability in the next fortnight only, when we will shut things down for a while.
