The Vics continued their unbeaten start to the season with a point at Elliott park this afternoon.

The game itself a fairly uneventful spectacle. Very few chances for either team in front of goal as the score line suggests. The main talking point was the dubious sending off of Vics keeper Shane Brown who was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the box. Sam Clark deputised really well and the boys battled to preserve the clean sheet.

Selkirk Vics 3-3 Hawick Legion

The away side were the quickest out the blocks when they opened the scoring in the 1st minute of the game.

It took us a little while to get into the match but when we did, Kieran Wilkinson whipped in a dangerous cross that was met by the head of Matt Morrison at the back post with 25 minutes played. 1-1.

In all fairness both teams had 1 more good chance each before the break but neither found the net.
1-1 HT

Just before the hour mark we began to build some momentum and from a Ross Purves throw into the box, the ball fell to Rico Poccia who set the ball back for Matt Morrison to calmly find the net for his 2nd goal of the game. 2-1.

As was the run of the game it was back and forward and 10 minutes after we took the lead, Hawick Legion managed to get themselves back level. 2-2

And it didn’t take the visitors long to get themselves back in the lead as the same player scored again to make it 2-3 Hawick Legion.

We went and pushed on and in search of an equaliser and again a long throw into the box this time from Aaron Cairney, the ball eventually sat up nicely for Sam McClymont to lift it over the keeper for 3-3 and that rounded off the scoring.
