The Ladies have had a busy spell over the last few weeks, competing for no less than 3 trophies and managing a mini break to Drumoig.
First up was the D.A.Heard Cup, where a new name will be etched on this year, as Zoe Summers romped round recording an excellent net 66. Nadine McVie, who is continuing her early form was second with a net 69.
Next up 12 Ladies ventured to Drumoig for a hugely enjoyable weekend. The golf consisted of a stableford each day, Diane Cassidy was victorious on Day 1, with Maureen Mathison triumphant on Day 2. Trip organiser,Marjorie Rae was the bridesmaid on both days. Although some good golf was played the weekend was enjoyed most for fun and friendship.
"Beware the injured golfer". This was certainly true as Alison Rutherford took the honours to win the Elsie Wilson Trophy with a tidy Net 71. This was no mean feat after injuring her hamstring whilst playing tennis 2 weeks before, and was expecting to be out for a good few weeks. A triumphant return. Diane Cassidy was runner up.
Two extremely lucky ladies, namely Anne Allan + Carol Purves recorded 2's which had been a rollover going back to last September. Needless to say Securicor was required to get them home.
The Ladies try to raise their game when the playing of the Ev Rafferty Trophy comes around.
Still greatly missed by all, it was extremely fitting and very emotional when Lorraine Tait, one of Ev's closest friends, produced a swashbuckling round of net 64 to leave everyone in no doubt the Trophy was going home with her. Yet again Nadine McVie came closest with a net 68.
