A tough night in the office for Jaden, myself and the team
I’m going to say what I always say and have done with my past, present and future competitors
Win or lose I remind them
Fights express where you are at, plain and simple. Wins make you look better than you are, losses make you worse than you are, but everything you did is a display of you under pressure at this current moment
On nights it doesn’t work out…
I look at myself first and my fighters second, to find out why and troubleshoot.
There are both athletic, technical and tactical reasons.
I explore all three, ruthlessly
I’ll wrap up with a video of my standard antics and some tremendous knowledge from Sylvie Von Duuglas Ittu
*if you don’t know this amazing woman, check her out, she’s had 290+ Muay Thai fights
In Muay Thai you have to keeping learning how to lose.
It's all about not taking yourself too seriously and deflating your ego so you can, in a paradoxical way, float better.
Losing is not the end of the damn world. It's just yet another move that keeps you on track towards whatever greatness you're aiming for
If you're humble enough to let it be this way.
I'll share with you part of my favorite quote from Aldous Huxley, which I find perfectly on point here:
"It’s dark because you are trying too hard.
Lightly child, lightly.
Learn to do everything lightly.
Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply.
Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.
I was so preposterously serious in those days, such a humorless little p**g.
Lightly, lightly – it’s the best advice ever given me. "
