I wasn’t sure how I would feel being back at a ‘normal’ show after how special it was at the The British Bridleless Competition two weeks ago. It definitely isn’t the same but it was lovely seeing lots of friends and Felbridge is always so friendly 🫶🏻

Joey hasn’t been to a show in over two months but with Hickstead next week I thought we’d better check we could remember how (by we, I mean me, Joey is 😇). Anyway, I needn’t have worried! He absolutely flew round for a cracking clear and the win🥇by over 1.5seconds! And saved my 🍑 big style when I committed to a very positive long one at the 2nd!

Hopefully we haven’t used up all our luck before next week. But I already knew it was going to be a good day when I picked my favourite mismatched pair of Coolhorsesocks.co.uk out of my draw this morning (pic 7). Those of you who know me, know I only wear odd socks - but they are selected and paired (🙈)

A huge part of keeping my horses happy and healthy is maintaining their comfort physically. My mum is a qualified animal chiropractor and has always been a huge part of ensuring they are always feeling their best.

3 years ago I took the plunge and completed a Veterinary Physiotherapy masters, so I have a PgDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy from Nottingham University and am an IRVAP registered Vet Physio. I love going and helping clients to keep their horses feeling their best but also love the fact that I am able to treat what I’m feeling with my own horses - prevention is ALWAYS better the cure!

I have space to take on some new clients this summer, so if you think I could help your horse then please get in touch. I pride myself on creating happy horses for owners to enjoy whatever the goal or discipline. As long as you love your horse, I would love to help you keep them feeling their best.

I feel so lucky to know Hudson’s story right from the beginning…

Before we get into the whys and hows, scroll through to see his journey from cheeky foal to event horse then show jumper right the way through to the start of his bridleless journey last year.

It was sooo hard to pick which memories to share, but it has been lovely looking back at the incredible things he has achieved and most importantly the relationship we have built as a team 🦄

What is your favourite memory and why?

‘The more you use your rein, the less they use their brain’

Absolutely love this quote from and it is one of the reasons I believe Hudson has picked up bridleless riding so quickly. I haven’t always had the dream of riding bridleless but I have always wanted happy horses who enjoy what they do.

Thanks to incredible support and advice from - ‘5th leg training’ as he described it, became a huge part of how I produced my horses. Allowing them to think for themselves and actually USE their body!

This sequence of photos was taken a few years ago now by and show why allowing horses to use their body as they need to is so important

Horses are very aware, and very good at thinking and looking after themselves if we allow them to. So when you’re training make sure you take into account the horse themselves and their innate ability to problem solve and look after themselves, especially when they feel safe within their herd (& as riders we can be a positive or negative member of that herd)

The first British Bridleless Competition attracted horses and riders in showjumping up to 1.20m and dressage up to grand prix, and more shows are planned

Behind the ears of a very happy Hudson, who now believes he is a celebrity and I think the fame may have gone to his head 👑👑

However, after how incredibly easy he made everything look last weekend, I think he has earned it 🏆

Starting Monday I am going to be sharing a series of posts for you to find out all about Hudson’s back story, what he has done up until now and how and why we started a bridleless journey 👀👀

Keep your eyes peeled and it this rate we are going to have to get some I❤️Hudson merch 🙈

Let me know what else you would like to learn more about as we have lots of lovely new followers 😍
