🥊 An incredible fight for the vacant Contender Super Lightweight Title!

McKay (Red Corner) and Hart (Blue Corner) delivered a scrappy, emotional & toe to toe battle from start to finish. Hart was boxing really well and looked to be winning the opening round before being caught with a flash
knockdown, turning it into a 10-8 round.

The final three rounds were closely contested, but McKay’s work rate, pressure and aggression just edged the contest, earning him a unanimous points decision. Credit to Hart for giving away so much experience in what turned out to be a very close fight.

🏆 Con McKay is the new HB Promotions Super Lightweight Contender Champion! 🏆

What a fight!

George Hart made a strong start and looked to have done enough to take the opening round. But with just 10 seconds remaining, Con McKay landed a huge shot to score a knockdown and completely shift the momentum.

The next three rounds were incredibly competitive, with both men having their moments in a contest that was difficult to separate. After four action packed rounds, Con McKay earned a unanimous points victory to become the first ever HB Promotions Super Lightweight Contender Champion.

Con will now make the first defence of his title on 1st November at the Cliffs Pavilion.

After a fight like that, we have to ask... 👀
