Proud of these girls- Winners of the Rayleigh Lawn and the Essex County finals, today Layla and Sofia narrowly lost in the National finals of Play your way today Winbledon in the Quarter Finals to the number 2 seeds 7-5, 4-6, 6-10. The girls battled all the way to the end, never giving up and was a credit to our tennis club! Great effort girls!

Rayleigh's Pippa and Amelia at the national finals of play your way to Wimbledon..Amazing achievement by the girls to get in the national finals of the UK Under 18 Doubles Finals. Pippa and Amelia lost the first match to very tough opponents and have there second group match today. Good luck and well done for making the finals and also all the hard work both girls have put into improving their tennis .

Congrats to Rayleigh Pair Pippa and Amelia who have been invited to the National finals of the Play your way to Wimbledon Tournament.
Pippa and Amelia were the Essex County Runners up to our other Rayleigh Pair Sofia and Layla and will now join them at the All England Club next week where they will compete against the other county winners from all around the country!
Rayleigh may well be the only club in the UK to have two pairs in the Girls Unser 18 Doubles national finals. Well done the girls and good luck!

Great week for Sofia, who played very well to finish runner up in the Essex Open Grade 3 Girls Under 18 Singles. Sofia won her quarter final 6-0, 6-3 and her semi final 6-3, 6-2 before losing the final to a very good player in Bella.
What makes this so good is Sofia recently was a little down after a below par performance and instead of feeling sorry for herself she got back up and put herself back in a competitive environment showing great determination and fighting spirit! Well done Sofia!
