It is not long now until we go again. Preseason begins on Tuesday 7th July at Norton Down @ 7pm. We are delighted to be able to welcome back our coaching team from last season - Lovejoy Chawatama and Luke Daniels.

MNRFC will once again be fielding three teams in the league system and we welcome players of all ages and experiences. We offer a fun and friendly experience whether you’re looking to push yourself in a competitive 1s and 2s environment, or you are looking for a more social experience with the 3s.

This Summer our Colts team will also be doing their preseason fitness alongside the Seniors - so if you are in school years 12 or 13 and fancy learning off coaches with Premiership Rugby experience, come along and see what we’re all about.

Can’t wait until then and want to hit the ground running? We have some player led pre-preseason every Tuesday and Thursday throughout June in our gym. Simply pop along to see what it is all about.

Details of our preseason fixtures coming very soon…

We are sharing this fundraiser on behalf of Andy Ball

After being diagnosed with Cancer in March 2026 Michelle fought courageously against the cruel disease.

In April 2026 she spent 9 days in the Royal United Hospital and then again another 12 days in May 2026 before being moved to The Dorothy House Hospice at Winsley on the 1st June 2026 where she received end of life care.

The care she received at both the RUH and Dorothy House was amazing.

Sadly on the 6th June 2026 after a very short battle, Michelle passed away at Dorothy House leaving her amazing legacy.

Various people have said they want to fundraise in memory of Michelle.

Charlotte Wise is currently running a km for every goal scored at this year’s FIFA World Cup.

The main event that her husband Andy and a family friend James Hunter are arranging with support from others is a 250 mile bike ride over two days towards the anniversary of her death.

On the weekend of the 29th/30th May 2027, a group of cyclists, led by Andy and James will depart the Royal United Hospital in Bath and by the end of the Saturday aim to reach Big Ben in London. On the Sunday they will depart Big Ben with the aim to reach Dorothy House in Winsley.

All proceeds from the fundraising will be split evenly between the two charities which cared for Michelle.

We are delighted to confirm that planning permission has now been granted for the redevelopment of Midsomer Norton RFC, including our clubhouse refurbishment and floodlighting project.

This is a significant milestone in our long-term vision to improve facilities, support participation growth and secure the future of rugby at Norton Down.

Thank you to everyone who supported the project, contributed to the consultation process and helped shape the plans.

Now the hard work really begins. With planning permission secured, we can focus on fundraising, grant applications and building the partnerships needed to turn these plans into reality.

Michelle’s funeral will be held on Thursday 2nd July at 12.15 in the Top Chapel at Haycombe Cemetery, Bath.

A celebration of her life will continue afterwards at Midsomer Norton Rugby Club.

Mich’s favourite colour was red so the family’s request is you wear a splash of or indeed, a full-on red outfit.

Please pass this on to others who may not know.

We are devastated to learn of the passing of our volunteer, supporter and friend Michelle Ball.

As a rugby mum, she was a force in the clubhouse - including helping Connie and the team to feed hundreds of kids each Sunday. Michelle also sat on our Bar and Entertainment committee, using her many talents to support our range of events in all sorts of ways.

In recent months Michelle courageously fought cancer for a second time but continued to support the club and volunteer. She will be greatly missed by so many.

The club sends its love to Andy, Jack and Lilyanna.

A huge thank you to Chronologic for their ongoing sponsorship of the Women’s team through match shirts and training tops. The latter are pictured here in sunny Benidorm as well as in a slightly colder Midsomer Norton.

While we’re busy tracking metres gained and tackles made on the pitch, the team at Chronologic are the undisputed experts at tracking time off it. As leaders in workforce management, they provide the tech that keeps UK businesses running like a well-oiled scrum.

Whether it’s their cloud systems for flexible teams or their heavy-duty biometric face and fingerprint readers that stop “buddy punching” in its tracks, they have a solution for every sideline.

They don’t just sell hardware; they provide the software that makes payroll a breeze and ensures everyone is accounted for local businesses like this that keep grassroots rugby alive. We’re proud to wear the name of a company that values precision, reliability, and teamwork as much as we do.
