🏏 A season to remember for the 3s!

A hugely successful season sees the 3rd XI finish 2nd in the league, despite playing one game fewer than the side who finished top, securing promotion to a league higher next season! 👏

There was plenty more to celebrate too, with the 3s reaching the Bateman Cup Semi Final, including a fantastic 2nd round victory over local 1st XI Purnell’s.

🏆 Season highlights

A huge 229 run league win over Lansdown at home – Luke Justin 104, L Stansfield 64, R Hobbs 50*

A brilliant Bateman Cup Semi Final victory over Bedminster, defending a below par 127 thanks to a superb spell from G Slocombe – 4/1/5/3.

A frustrating abandoned league fixture in the first game of the season, with the 3s sitting on 237/0 declared before the rain arrived – L Justin 101, M Batchelar 112.

We’ve got a fantastic prize up for grabs in support of our Tough Mudder fundraiser!

Tom Dunn has very kindly donated a signed rugby shirt for our raffle - worn by himself!

🎟️ Tickets are £5 each and all money raised will go towards our Tough Mudder fundraising.

The winning ticket will be drawn mid September by Tom Dunn himself! This will hopefully be at Midsomer Norton Cricket Club but location TBC.

Yesterday some of our youngest members played three games at an u10 festival hosted by Lodway. This was the first games played by these year 2, 3 and 4 players and everyone did a fantastic job. MNCC WOMEN’S 1ST XI BOUNCE BACK WITH EMPHATIC 9-WICKET WIN

Midsomer Norton CC Women’s 1st XI bounced back brilliantly from a tough previous outing to secure a dominant 9-wicket victory over a warm, friendly 10-player Buckhorn Weston CC side in the Somerset T20 Blitz 💪🏏💚.
After winning the toss and electing to field, MNCC delivered a clinical bowling performance to restrict the visitors to 73/8. G Ford led the attack with a sensational spell, taking 3 wickets for just 5 runs, while M Wadsworth and B Gardiner bowled beautifully to the openers claiming 2 for 10 and 1 for 3, respectively. A Hagemeyer (1/9) also kept things incredibly tight to stifle the opposition.The chase was seamless, as MNCC cruised to 75/1 in just 13.4 overs. H King spearheaded the reply with an explosive, unbeaten 29 off 24 balls (including five 4s), while K Strass anchored the innings perfectly with a composed, undefeated 17. This stellar all-round team effort earns MNCC a well-deserved 5 points and puts their campaign right back on track for their next sunday fixture at home against the league leaders Weston Super Mare.
