Match day report for PRTCC 2nd XI 🏏

Poole Town 4ths beat Portland Red Triangle 2nds by 10 wickets.

A spectacular opening partnership between Elliot Holland and Will Montgomery powered Poole Town CC 4th XI to a commanding 10-wicket victory over Portland Red Triangle CC 2nd XI at Reforne on Saturday.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Portland Red Triangle CC struggled to convert solid individual starts into a truly competitive total, finishing their 40 overs at 151/8.
Dave Adkins top-scored for the hosts with a brisk 38, featuring 6 boundaries, before falling to the bowling of Hudson Roxburgh, Finley Hatchard (26) and opening batsman Ray Emery (21) provided useful contributions upfront, but Poole Town's disciplined bowling attack consistently chipped away to prevent any major partnerships from flourishing.
The second half of the match belonged entirely to Poole Town’s opening pair. Chasing 152 for victory, Elliot Holland and Will Montgomery made absolute mockery of the target, reaching 152/0 in just 24 overs to seal a flawless 10-wicket victory.

🏏 March day report for the 2nd XI 🏏

After losing the toss and being sent in to bat, Portland Red Triangle found runs exceptionally hard to come by early on.
Buckhorn Weston’s opening bowlers set a suffocating tone; Charlie Payne bowled a magnificent, economical spell of 1 for 10 across 8 overs (including 4 maidens), while Jake Douglas tore through the top order, picking up 2 for 11 from his 8 overs
At 19/3, Portland was in desperate need of a partnership. Sam Linley-Munro provided the initial resistance, striking a resilient 35 from 63 balls, including a four and two maximums . However, Andrew Vickery kept the pressure firmly on Buckhorn’s side by dismantling the middle order, taking 3 for 40 in his 8 overs with the wickets of Linley-Munro, Fateh Singh (11), and Paul Bowey (2)
​Struggling at 105/8, Portland managed to bat out their full 40 overs thanks to a late, aggressive cameo from Ben Linley-Munro, who smashed an unbeaten 18 off just 15 balls (hitting 4 boundaries) alongside wicketkeeper Tony Quayle (1* off 7) Combined with a generous helping of 34 extras, Portland dragged their total up to 128/8.
Chasing 129, Buckhorn Weston's reply stumbled early. Opening batter Joseph Miller was dismissed for 2 by Ben Linley-Munro, and Harry Snoswell was brilliantly run out by Finley Hatchard for a diamond duck before facing a single ball
With the scoreboard looking fragile, Daniel Taylor and Josh White stepped up to completely take the game away from Portland. The pair put on a masterclass of aggressive, positive accumulation
Mike Cole added a quick 7* to seal the deal as Buckhorn Weston effortlessly crossed the finish line at 130/3. Portland's bowlers had few answers for the onslaught, with Ben Linley-Munro (1/37) and Ryley Marsh (1/30) picking up the only wickets to fall to bowlers

🏏 Match day report for the 1st XI 🏏

Portland Red Triangle CC secured a thrilling five-wicket victory over Beaminster CC in a high-scoring County Division 1 clash at Reforne, successfully chasing down a daunting target of 257 with more than six overs to spare.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Beaminster CC put together a highly competitive total of 256/7 from their allotted 45 overs. The foundation of their innings was laid by an excellent top-order performance.
Opener Chris Park led the way with a fluent 63, punctuated by 11 boundaries, before being caught by Matthew Barrett off the bowling of Jack Marsh. His opening partner, William Moss, matched his intent with a solid 51 before a sharp piece of fielding from Callan Laws resulted in his run-out.
​Middle-order contributions from Ross Baker (36, including two 4s and three 6s) and an unbeaten 28* from Adam Moss ensured Beaminster kept the run rate ticking.
​For Portland, Joe Adkins was the pick of the bowling attack, delivering a brilliant, restrictive spell to finish with figures of 3/28 from his 9 overs. Jack Marsh provided valuable support, picking up 2/44, including the crucial breakthrough of Park.
Faced with a steep target, Portland Red Triangle's batsmen rose to the occasion with an aggressive counter-attack. Though opener Izaak Russell fell for 32, Matthew Barrett took total control of the innings. Barrett played a match-winning knock of 81, smashing 10 fours and 2 sixes to put Portland firmly in the driver's seat.
​He found an ideal partner in Joe Adkins, who capped off a good all-round day by scoring a well made 61, featuring 8 boundaries and a six. Contributions from the lower-middle order, including 21 from Rich Samuel and an unbeaten 16* from Tim Forshaw, guided the hosts across the finish line. Portland reached 258/5 in just 38.5 overs, capping off a dominant chase
