So good to have used the Andrew Cassell Foundation spinnakers with the ACF logo Cowes Week.

I made these kites a couple of years ago with the ACF logo applied by Spinnaker & Mainsail Branding

It is a great way of identifying the Andrew Cassell Foundation Sonar keelboats on the Solent.

What an amazing week of racing Cowes Week with Andrew Cassell Foundation in the Sonar Class UK Sonar Class Association

With a competitive fleet of 23 boats there was some great close racing in the Solent.

I loved sailing with the Andrew Cassell Foundation team as in picture 3 in ACF Spare Part sail number 747.

A huge thank you to Matt Grier, Director Andrew Cassell Foundation for his hard work and support during this busy week.

After a busy first half of the year it was great to take some time off and go sailing on our Westerly Konsort
Razzle Dazzle.

The date was on the calendar and we joined the WOA Westerly Owners Association Summer Rally of the Solent. Our cruising included visits to Yarmouth, Cowes, Bembridge, Gosport and Portsmouth. It was an amazing week, meeting friends and making some new ones along the way. From pontoon parties, meals out, museum visits and pirates fancy dress it was great fun. A huge thank you goes out to the organisers of whose hard work made it a memorable week.

Another great week of teaching the Sailmaking course

This was the first group of students who are on the 40 week boat building course. During the week the students learnt skills from floor lofting design and cutting panels to the use of industrial sewing machines, patching, edging and finishing.

A gaff main, hank on jib and sprit mizzen were completed for an 18' Lyme Bay Crabber that the students will build during their 40 week course.

Yesterday I was back at Kemp Sails where I started my career as a sailmaker.

I'm an official RYA measurer and I was asked to measure a Swan 42 racing headsail for IRC certification and a suit of Mirror sails.

Fortunately after successful measurement I signed off the sails with an RYA certification sticker.

If anyone wants their sails measuring please do get in touch.

It was great fun running a Sail Repair and Splicing Workshop for

A brilliant group of Ocean Youth Trust South volunteers learnt what to look out for on their sails that may need repairs and got hands on with some basic sail repairs with the use of a needle and palm.

In the afternoon everyone got to work through and make a soft shackle and have a go at an eye splice.
