Delighted to share this post from our colleagues at Maritime Professional Development UK who have developed a SV-ECS/Radar Training Simulator for the sub 24m workboat and commercial market. Launched at Seawork the simulator solution is unique in offering a simulator solution aimed at the sub 24m market. We already use the RYA Radar Course simulator from them for our RYA radar courses and have one of these SV-ECS/Radar Simulators present at each of our MCA Small Ships Navigation & Radar courses to give attendees first hand experience of the SV-ECS product. WIN A HANDHELD VHF…. Powerboat Training UK return to Seawork with a fun challenge for Skippers, Crew and Operators.

We know that our clients appreciate some fun and healthy competition so pop by our stand at Seawork (Stand P107 in the hall next to the Conference Rooms) to test your skills on our remote control boat driving challenge. Be timed as you helm the remote control tug around the course, avoid the rocks and the lighthouse and record a great time!

Come along as individuals, a crew or a company and see who has got the best boat driving skills. Be the best of Seawork and you’ll go home with a Icom hand held VHF radio!

Of course we are there to chat training too - talk to us about the MCA Small Ships Navigation & Radar course and the Yachtmaster and Advanced Powerboat Scheme courses and examinations.

Training is really beneficial whatever your level! Here you can see both RNLI Poole Lifeboats and RNLI Swanage Lifeboat responding to a simulated collision between our RIBs Hunter and Harrier. The PTUK Instructors deployed MOB mannequins into the water and various volunteers on board the RIBs simulated the injuries arising from such collisions. The incident allowed the crews to triage a mass casualty event in some pretty challenging conditions. Great experience for everyone involved.

We are running another of our RYA Powerboat Instructor courses and need 1x people with no experience to come afloat and be taught by the trainee instructors under the guidance of Instructor instructors!
