And that’s a wrap on

For me walking and being out in nature has always been a way to get out of my head for a while, connect and recharge. That’s exactly what we set ourselves the intention of today. To reconnect, explore a little more of the UK and have some time away from the norm.

We went up, went down, got rained on, went up and down some more 🤣 covered copious amounts of ground and terrain but met some lovely people and both have a huge amount of newfound respect for marathon runners! You guys are next level!

Whilst I’m pleased with my medal (Warwick had his hand delivered by the mayor of course 🤣) I’m mostly just proud of myself for doing something new and challenging to me 🫶✨

One week to go. There’s still time to sponsor me. The link will only let you do it in £4 donations for some reason but all of the funds go directly to Mind and are greatly appreciated. The work the do is so essential ✨

This year, I’ve decided to take on my first walking marathon — something that feels both exciting and a little daunting.

As many of you know, I recently completed my Level 4 Mental Health in Fitness qualification. It’s something I care deeply about, because for me, fitness has never just been about the physical side. It’s been a lifeline — whether that’s through yoga, strength training, or simply getting out for a walk to clear my head.

What I’ve come to realise, not just in my own journey but through working with so many of my clients, is how easy it is to drift back into living in our heads. Life gets busy, responsibilities take over, and before we know it, we’ve quietly placed ourselves at the bottom of the list.

The truth is, so many of us are carrying things we don’t always talk about — myself included.

In the UK, around 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year, and for young people especially, those numbers are rising. Services are stretched, and too many people still feel like they have to cope on their own.

That’s a big part of why I’m doing this. I’m taking on this marathon to raise awareness and support for Mind — a charity that provides vital help to those who need it most.

If you’re in a position to support, I’d be incredibly grateful. And just as importantly, if you’re going through a tough time, please don’t keep it to yourself.

We’re here for you at Oundle School Sports Centre Whether you need a listening ear, some guidance, or help getting started, we can support you or point you in the right direction — including access to a 12-week supported referral programme.

You’re not alone 🤍
Thank you for taking the time to read.

Exciting news… our chair-based community classes are growing 💛 starting next week we’re introducing our 4th class of the week, the first of its kind.

This is a new instructor-led, circuit-style chair fitness class — designed to give you more personalised support in a small group setting.

This means you’ll get time, attention, and coaching tailored to your needs — helping you build strength, improve mobility, and manage long-term conditions with confidence.

Think of it as having a personal trainer… but in a supportive group, and at a fraction of the cost as my mission is to remove the barriers and get more people moving pain free, for longer.

✨ 45-minute sessions
✨ Small groups for a more personal experience
✨ All equipment provided
✨ £7.50 per class
📍 Southside Methodist Church
📅 Starting Thursday 7th May

Because spaces are limited to allow everyone some 121 time, booking is essential.

It seems only fitting that this arrived today in time for

There are so many benefits to moving for your mind. Rather than list them all I’ll leave you with a snippet of the meditation we’ve been practicing this week in our yoga sessions. I hope that you can take something from it. 🫶✨

“The untrained mind can only live in 2 places, past or future it cannot live in the present - the present is too quiet. In the present their is only ‘what is’ and that is often simple, breath, sound, light, sensation, movement, a task in front of you and people often struggle with that as the mind wants complexity so it looks ahead or behind.

Attention is your most valuable currency and wherever it goes, your life goes. It was the Buddha who said ‘What you think you attract’ Simply put - If your attention is always in your head, your life will likely feel small, cramped anxious and repetetive even if you travel the world because you will carry the prison with you. So where do we begin? We begin with the body because the body is always in the present, the mind can lie but the body cannnot. Your mind can say I am not stressed whilst your shoulders are tight and your jaw is clenched, your mind says I’m ok whilst your stomach churns - your body tells the truth and the moment you return to the body - you return to the present.

Try this now - pause where you are and feel your breath, whare do you feel it most clearly, nose, chest, belly? Now notice the moment you feel the breath even for 1 second your mind becomes quieter why? Because attention can only be in one place at a time. If attention is in sensation it is not in story. This is the doorway. A way for you to break the cycle of repetitive thoughts.

You may think you need to solve your whole life but that is not the case, you simply need to stop living upstairs in the mind and start living more presently, viscerally in the body.”
